If B-Hop gets by Dawson the next biggest name and biggest paycheck would be Sergio Martinez.. Martinez himself is looking for a big name to add to his resume and get in on some PPV action. The chance that this match up happens is slim considering that both men are comfortable fighting at their current weight classes.. Any chance of this happening at a catch weight and if so how do you see it going? IMO Martinez needs this more but obviously if B-Hop beats Sergio that would be another huge merit on his legacy and he can probably ride off into the sunset.. Your thoughts?

Very doubtful it ever happens and would be a pointless KO win for Hopkins that people would give him 0 credit for "picking on smaller man" Hopkins should look to fight Bute after Dawson not Martinez, whilst Martinez should chase down Floyd.

Besides Martinez's reluctance to move up much past 164, I'm also not sure how far down Hopkins can actually go at this point. Also, I doubt Martinez is the next best paycheck; Bute is a far more attractive option for Hopkins, even though the two fighters' respective television contracts also make that unlikely.

I don't think it will happen either but B-Hop has fought smaller men before (Trinidad, De La Hoya) and while he did KO them neither man was as elusive as is Martinez. B-Hop is my second favorite fighter after Floyd but I think this is a very tough match up for him considering his age plus the speed and power of Martinez.. The ultimate challenge for a strategist such as Hopkins.

No, Bernard is growing up in size and weight and Sergio is already too heavy at MW and possibly absolutely with no mobility or loosing up punches at SMW, at LHW Sergio Martinez is a sitting duck.

Hopkins would love it, he's made a career out of beating great smaller fighters. The problem is Martinez wants to do the same and won't likely move up from 160.
