If I had never seen Ward fight, I would enjoy his personality outside of the ring. But knowing the lenghts he will go to to win inside the ring.. makes his entire SOG-thing scream hypocrisy.

Dirrell made him look awful, but that's only partially due to stylistic factors - Dirrell was on his bike all fight and nobody looks good against that kind of opponent. Having said that, if he'd actually bothered to fight Froch instead of running he'd have won a fairly clear decision. When he turned up the heat in the last couple of rounds he looked the better fighter.

As for Taylor, well yeah Froch got picked apart in the first half of that fight and had to pull a last-ditch KO out the bag to prevent defeat. I think we all agree that he's improved a fair bit since that fight though, no?

But anyway, it is true that a mobile and elusive target is Froch's kryptonite, and it's when we see him throwing wild looping shots from out of range, looking quite poor technically.

As has been said countless times on this forum, Ward is a chameleon; so far he's been able to adopt different styles against different opponents in order to come out on top. Against Froch I think he'd do well to follow the blueprint that Taylor and Dirrell laid out when they fought him because, despite both guys losing, they made him look sloppy.

 

If you go to Las Vegas expecting to see this fight, you will only be watching it on television, or closed circuit.

Seriously this is such a lame thread!! I could understand the claim that Froch wouldn't do well against a quick slick fighter, but how the hell does being an African-American become a boxing trait :nut I mean for christ's sake you don't hear anybody claiming that Calzaghe's cryptonite is slick Egyptian fighters...

 

So Froch likes punching himself, ala Tyson Fury?
