If everyone agrees that's it's in the interest of boxing to ignore all titles other then the ring magazine, then we will have one group of people who are largely interested in the prosperity of the sport deciding who and when! All it takes is universal committal and ignorance of the shite! I think it will happen in the fairly near future- world titles currently mean zilch in either historical or in many cases financial terms!

The ring ratings aren't perfect for obvious reasons but I'd take them over any of the corrupt sanctioning bodies even if it means the uk losing a few champions in favour of the longevity and prosper of the sport.

    Whose with me!!!!!!!!!!!!! (RAAAARRRR!!!)

Yeah, you can either be constantly annoyed at the dealings of the sanctioning bodies, or just concentrate on enjoying the fights.

The amount of decent fights where all anyone can say is 'Why is it for XX belt?' is worrying.

How can dirrell be the 10th best super middle of all time, he's not even in the top 5 currently

To be fair it's not as dumb as it looks because SMW is a young division and the all time list there only includes 'retired' fighters. Dirrell has been inactive so long that he gets included. Froch, Bute, Kessler would be higher but they are considered active fighters.

Boxrec is great for finding out what kind of level the lesser fighters are at. It doesn't reward boxers with padded records like others but it has its flaws. Wlad would get more points beating Mayweather than he would by beating Vitali.

Just because I seem to be the only person in the world that knows this:

Divisional rankings on boxrec aren't just related to what they have achieved in that division. They are the score of their overall achievements transposed into a single division: often where they finished their career or whichever is thought to best represent them. It's why you wont find Tunney or Charles in LHW rankings, but will be higher than expected in the Heavyweights.

He wouldn't. Fighter's points are adjusted downwards when they move up in weight.
