They both looked shot in their last fights, but Tarver is physically much larger and can outbox Lacy. Jeff looked like he can't punch with authority at all anymore and that was his main strength.. it was sad to see him like that against Manfredo.

I hope the ref knocks them both out.

It seems he has not the confidence in his shoulder yet, i hoope he gets the confidence back and gets more comfortable with his vicious shots again.
Tarver is an old man, Lacy is still young. That could make the difference.

That's the saddest part. He is young, but against Manfredo he looked 40 years old. It's hard to see him turning his career around now, but I really hope he does. He was an exciting fighter and his heart was very impressive in the Calzaghe fight. I gained a ton of respect for him after that beating he took without quitting and his no excuses post-fight interview.

:-( bad fight for Lacy. Bad fight for us.

  6. All signs point to dominance of the fight by Tarver but you know I would love to see Lacy win this; he has a puncher's chance but it's a small one.

Its certainly not the greatest fight that could have been made but I'll be watching this.

Has the venue been set yet? Would be nice to have it on the Joe / Hoipkins card.

It's a fight between two tainted former stars with little meaning. But I hope Lacy wins as Tarver has surely seen better days and should be contamplating retirement.

Tarver wins, unfortunately. Lacy is too small for 175 and lacks confidence now. It's too bad, he's one of my favorites.

bloody hell, what planet have you been living on?

lacy blamed everything. the food in the uk, gary shaw, his training, the location of the fight. not that long ago he hinted at a rematch.

Both fighters have looked awful lately. Not sure who's been looking worse.

Tarver beats Lacy handily. The bigger question being does Lacy see the final bell?

Probably. Tarver isn't exactly going to match Paul Williams in punch output and Lacy does have a good chin.

Maybe we'll all get lucky and Tarver fights Dawson after this.

Showtime needs to get out of the Antonio Tarver business. A fight with Lacy is a step in the right direction, but if not the best at 175 after this than he has no business taking up Showtime dates against no-hopers.

On the same day as Calzaghe - Hopkins???

Seems a silly decision to me...

Tarver should be able to outbox lacy though...

It would make sense to put this fight on the undercard imo.
