I take it this is purely a promotional partnership and George will stay with Booth as his trainer ???

Frank has only got the UK rights to Groves. GBP still own his worldwide rights, this is why Matchroom backed out of their deal to sign Groves.

Booth will stay on as his manager and trainer.

Frank says that the rematch with DeGale will happen, but it doesn't sound like it's imminent.

the degale rematch will still only happen when Groves/Booth decide to do it.

the deal will simply say that Groves will fight on a minimum number of ****** cards per year, for 3 years. he will get paid a minimum amount per fight/year for doing so. same as most solely promotional deals.

Frank has also said that when the rematch happens, he will be firmly in Degales corner. This is certainly not a normal promotional relationship. probably more of a marriage of convienience.

Benefit for Groves: exposure and clout with sanctioning bodies. chance to fight on some big cards.

Benefit for Frank: ticket sales and another name for his stable. bit of one up manship over matchroom.

This arrangement concerns me. It reminds of the plot for The Karate Kid: Part 3. Soon Groves will be persuaded to leave Booth and be trained By Jim Mcdonnell.

The Dark Lord will then have to do a Mr Miyagi and save Groves' skin.

Groves won’t fight DeGale unless there’s a world title on the line. FW’s obviously hoping to get both men in position for that, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Booth shafts FWP at the last minute.

i think thats what everyone wants. this is hayemakers master plan. it wasn't anything to do with the heavyweight title, it was always a plan to bring down fw from within. its genius.

booth is now sitting in an office stoking his chin, laughing manically and dreaming of how close he is to dethroning frank.

groves and booth have always said that they will cross paths with degale again. the fight will happen but not anytime soon, not for the next 2 years at least. it will either happen when they are both world champions or on the decline. booth understands that they both fighter are to good to not fight again, he beleives groves will become world champion but degale also so he wants them to wait until their both at the top to make the biggest money fight possible.

just imagine groves and degale go over to america, they beat the best american (ward, dirrel) and europeon (froch and kessler) fighters then agree upon a rematch. it would be the biggest all english title fight ever, football stadiums would be packed, it would be on PPV all over the world because it would be 2 top P4P fighters who don't like each other, who have a history, going to war.

I’m a big Groves fan, but he’s not beating Ward. Neither is DeGale for that matter.

Normally I think that optimism is a good thing. But if DeGale reads that, he might start believing it, and he really doesn't need to believe that anyone out there thinks that that is in his future. Age will beat Froch before DeGale does.
