That's true. Even Arum said himself that Floyd was going to take the offer to fight Margarito for 8 but didn't like the rest of the deals he had on the table for him.

This was the deal Arum offered to Floyd after Floyd bought himself out of the Top Rank contract.

I'm talking about in the sense of Cotto and/or Margarito...Cotto would have made him huge amounts of money since he was "his own man" by then. Same for Margarito. These guys were at the doorstep and he knew there was no way he could not fight them without it looking like a duck so he retired :verysad

Cotto wouldn't of made him big money. After Mayweather got the DLH fight, he only wanted the huge fights and I don't blame him.

Cotto was simply not a big enough money maker. Even Arum must of thought it if he only offered Mayweather 5 million for the Cotto fight.

Arum offered Mayweather 5 mil for Hatton, Cotto and 8 for Margarito. And he said the DLH fight was out of the question.

Plus Mayweather offered Margarito a spot to replace Judah. Margarito turned it down citing he was going to stick to the PPV Arum was headlining him on that made like 7k buys.

Margarito hadn't fought for a year, was tied to a PPV with Arum. Was part way through a training camp.

Opportunity to fight Mayweather. Biggest payday. Arum wasn't going to lose much on PPV. And there was plenty of time to stop current camp and wait a month and half and start a fresh camp that would of been 2 months.
