Nah, Ward's conditioning is unparalleled. Plus, he's a real SMW, but with MW speed, and tremendous skills and versatility. Ward dusts Carl.

After being knocked out by Pavlick Taylor lost most of his confidence. In the second fight with Pavlick he started jabbing a lot more and not letting the right go for fear of being countered or engaged. By the time the Froch fight rolled around he was even less confident. He started tentatively until he realized Froch wasn't that great. He then threw some right hands with authority. Once he got tagged up a little though he went right back to throwing jabs, sometimes 3 at a time. His jab was effective, but it was no longer being used as a set up punch. Now it was merely a scoring punch, and something to try to keep the other guy off him. Then he got knocked out by Froch. In his next fight vs Abraham you'll notice he threw almost nothing but jabs. This wasnt due to Abrahams defense as you saw Dirrel and Froch and Ward tear that **** up. Zab Judah is guilty of the same. Remeber back in the day Zab was not a jabber. He would throw crazy hooks, uppercuts, not exclusively jabs. Now go look at his fight with Matthysse and Khan. Nothing but jabs. Scared to get hit. This is why Taylor would lose to Ward handily. Dirrel might be a tossup cause he scared shitless to get hit too. My two cents.

Jermain would dominate for about 7 rounds before getting KO'd in the 10th. Ward would see the canvas 2x's in a fight for the 1st time in his career. Don't you kinda think Ortiz is the JT of the WW division. Ton of skill, very little focus in the middle rounds and will get KO'd after mercilessly whooping his opponents ass and even knocking him down a few times before coughing up the fight. With JT some think stamina was the problem but Ortiz it's lack of focus. I think they're really similar fighters. JT's Maidana would be Ward. It's disappointing to see JT dominate Froch and lose. And Abraham for the 1st part of the fight and lose.It just gets silly after a while and a fight with Andre would be the same scenario.
