Should Adamek beat or be competetive with Vitali, it's a far greater achievement than

I think if adamek somehow ud's vitali then people will blame it on his age and weight and discredit him, I agree with you though, it would be amazing.

    Couldn't disagree more.

Just remember vitali is not the best hw in the world. He's a 40 year old man who's slowed considerably.

    I slightly favour adamek.

Jones and toney were former mw champions who had no right fighting at the weight.

It's in the same ball park because neither are fighting the true king of the division, but it's not quite as impressive.

But his last outings have been some of his most dominant ones, and he's a far greater fighter than John Ruiz ever was, at this point of his career.
Adamek beating him would be a slight miracle.

John Ruiz was a fraud, and Jones/Toney picked him because he was the weakest link, Adamek picks Vitali who is considered the strongest link... he's all balls to the wall.

But the difference between that ruiz and this vitali kind of makes up for that.
Vitali is supposed to be a h2h beast with most atg in heavyweight history.
Nobody is giving adamek a chance now, if he actually pulls it off he deserves full credit of course.
Eventhough vitali is past prime he is still extremely good and difficult to beat, him hardly losing rounds since coming back is proof of that.

 come on man, ruiz wasn't real champion - it would be similar if adamek fought povetkin or haye, but he's fighting Vitali - the best HW (or 2nd after his brother) in the world and for almost a decade... he is 40 years old but to be honest i don't see him slowing down - i thought he was when he's fought kingpin, but after this fight he had reaaally dominant performances... besides adamek fought most of his fights at LHW. it's very impressive as well - from fighting 175ers to 250+

IMO yes, the win against Vitali would be better than their wins against Ruiz. But, it's not happening.

    I'm giving adamek a chance.

plus I don't think the difference in quality does make up for the difference in weight jumping.

as I said, same ballpark but not as impressive.

the winner deserves full credit due to the stylistic issues both face.

Vitali isn't a real champion neither. that's why it's in the same balpark. both fighting paper champs.

not the 2nd best for almost a decade :nono the second best for 3 years. he spent 4 years injured remember.

    How can you not agree?

While Roy and James went after Ruiz The Klits and Lewis were still around.

because Roy started off as a LMW. he was also a MW champion. Ruiz at the time was a top 4 HW after his trilogy with Holy (which he lost IMO).

at the time Toney beat Ruiz he was coming off a victory over Rahman and fres although again a fiht which he lost IMO just before the toney fight.

Either way he was a staple top 5 HW during this period and slap bang in his prime.

Vitali is a top 2 HW but very far past his prime (7 year IMO) and Adamek was a LHW champ so the jump isn't as great but the opponent is a bit better.

Ruiz was the worst of 4 title holders.

I also do believe with the weight jump the size difference wasnt as vast as it is for Adamek vs Klit.
