Tomasz Adamek calls out David Haye by Scott Christ on Nov 13, 2009 10:12 PM EST in Boxing News Analysis 10 COMMENTS EMAIL PRINT Tomasz Adamek and David Haye both recently moved to heavyweight. Adamek has called out the new WBA heavyweight titlist. (Photo via news-poland.com) Main Events sent out a press release in which Tomasz Adamek put out a challenge to and insulted new WBA heavyweight titleholder David Haye, calling the Englishman "scared." "David, if you want to fight against somebody who punches back at your face—not the empty air—you know where to find me," Adamek declared. "You call yourself the best heavyweight fighter in the world after running scared for the whole fight with Nikolai Valuev? It’s not even funny." Kathy Duva of Main Events thinks it's a great fight on paper, and I would have to agree. "It’s been a very long time since the boxing public has seen the kind of action in a heavyweight title fight that they enjoyed before the advent of the Super Heavyweights who dominate the division these days." ... "When a heavyweight title fight is exciting, there is always a ‘smaller’ guy in the ring pressing the action. Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Jack Dempsey and, of course, Evander Holyfield, to name a few, all fought in their primes under 215 pounds. The next great heavyweight will come from the Cruiserweight division and we believe that he will be Tomasz Adamek." I don't think there's any questioning that Haye-Adamek would be one of the most exciting significant fights in the heavyweight division. But it's not going to happen any time soon, with Haye having a mandatory challenge coming from John Ruiz. After that, though, Haye-Adamek really could be a barnburner. I actually think it's a perfect fight for Haye. He'd be the bigger man in that one and I think he hits a lot harder. As good as Adamek's chin is, we've never seen him against someone that can bang like David Haye. Whatever else you think of Haye, his power is very, very real.
Haye lies once again and now will not retire, says he will fight Vitali... we all know how it will go. Haye brings NOTHING to the table... NO BELT...NO SKY PPV... it will have to be on Vitali terms...... we all know Haye will ***** and moan about "bad contracts" "slave contracts" and the Haye nuthuggers will fall for it yet again... I will be shocked if it actually happens Vitali by brutal KO in 8 or 9 unless haye runs again
Chef you talk out of your ass, vitali's better fighting brother couldn't put haye away...no matter what you say! As for vitali doing that?Go away....vitali was looking VERY old in there...And was clearly gassing......he is ripe for the taking!
Ukraine is in east Europe.Poland is not quite there.Beside romanians who are naturaly borne cowards the rest of east europeans are all warriors.
You mean the big clumsy **** with the **** footwork and balance who fell over last night? It took the big tub of **** 5 seconds to get back up and no one had hit him, what have you been feeding him Chef? Non existent pizza from little brothers plate..
I totally agree. I don't quite understand why people can't see the difference between the Wlad and Valuev fights. In the Valuev fight Haye ran, in the Wlad fight he broadly didn't.
