mccloskey was lucky enough, couldve went either way without too much complaint, 1st round kd shouldnt have been given imo
Workrate wins rounds? Prescott threw more punches (proper punches), hurt him on a number of times and turned his face into mush. Prescott clearly won that for me. But everytime McCloskey threw shots clocked by Prescott's guard, the crowd roared. Statistically he won it, looking at the two fighters afterward, he won it. But Mccloskey followed Prescott around the ring alot of the time, not really throwing alot. But that somehow counts as "work rate" he "outworked" him, when as I said, Prescott threw more punches.
personally i can't believe how much Prescott was ripped off. It's a disgrace. On top of that I though it's posssible that McCloskey just shaded that fight. What a ****in robbery. For both of them.. I haven't posted on here for years and most if not all of what i post is bollix but it's like if someone doesn't die in the ring then we've got a robbery on our hands. Needless to say I didn't watch the fight nor give a toss who won but as sure as eggs is eggs that was one bad robbery. For someone or other. Let's hope its at least a week before any such tragedy should occur again and besmirch our beloved sport
How many punches did the Irish boy actually land? Ok he kept coming foward but most of the punches landing were from Prescott.
Come on no way was it a robbery a close fight which could have gone either way, people are way too quick to say robbery for any decision that they don't agree with
I know scoring is subjective but thats bull****, how can you claim a McCloskey victory by a point and then deny that Prescott could hope for nothing more than a draw, i had Prescott 115-112 i think, McCloskey only came into the fight once Prescott had slowed enough for Paul to get close, Prescott deserved nothing less than a draw, period.
ROunds 4-12 Where very close, it depends what you look for, ring generalship and a come forward fighter or a back foot fighter landed cleaner shots. I personally had Prescott by a point but have no issue with Mccloskey being awarded the fight. Not a robbery at all.
Sky's commentary was pathetic. "You can see Prescott's team, they're not complaining, they've just left the ring..." Presumably because they were so disgusted with the scoring.
