If the top five is something like Fedor, Nog, Couture, Cro Cop and Barnett, then yeah.

It started off good but then got quite farcical once i saw Couture at 3. His best body of work was down at 205. That said his career at heavy when he won the title for the last time was very good. At best id have him as high as 5. Barnett and CC should definitely be above him.
Frank Mir has no business anywhere near the top 10. Anyone else from 5 downwards are interchangeable. But Werdum and Cain at 9 and 10? Makes a complete farce of their list.

    My list would be:

    Fedor
    Big Nog
    CC
    Barnett
    Coleman
    Igor Vovchancyn
    Couture
    Mark Kerr
    Semmy Schilt
    Bas Rutten

Iv included both Semmy and Bas purely because of their significance in MMA from the early days. Somewhat difficult to fill the last two but there's no way Cain/Mir/Sylvia or Werdum make my cut. They've simply not done enough. Or been consistent enough.

Hunt's weakness is the ground...(that is...if his opponent has a solid submission background).... If he can avoid it , or overpower his opponent , then maybe he'll win his next fight , otherwise he's ****ed.....Having said that , i really hope to see him KO Rothwell.

    Couture is very overrated.

Hes been badly knocked out by smaller men. His best victory is Rizzo imo.

Fedor and Nogueira are set in stone as the best. But in 50 yrs we will not be saying how good Cro Cop, Couture and Velasquez were.

    Good list.

I have always have trouble making a list below #4 Barnett. I think Silvia should be in the top 10.

I dont see how anyone can argue

    Fedor
    Nog
    Cro-Cop
    Barnett

But overall Sherdog's list isnt as bad as I expected .I actually expected Brock lesnar in their top ten, but having Frank Mir on the top 10 is almost as bad.

As yaca said, it's not as bad as I expected.

If asked off the top of my head, mine would probably read:

    Fedor
    Nog
    Cro Cop
    Barnett
    Couture
    Rizzo
    Coleman
    Vovchancyn
Velasquez/JDS winner need to complete list.

I'm leaving him alone on this. He was arguing that I was crazy for having Couture in my top 10 a few months back, and stated he was no where near an all time heavyweight top 10. The way I see it, his list is evolving for the better.

Coleman was the first UFC champion when the rules were far tougher. He was also the UFC 10/11 tourny champs. Fighting 3 guys in one night at UFC 10. A prime Goodridge and Frye both who were considered one of the best heavys in the world at the time. And he was also the PRIDE GP champion.

Coleman's impact for me at heavy is far more significant than what Couture accomplished. The only notable win Couture has is Rizzo. Sylvia and Gonzaga whilst good for his age are not enough to cement his place above Coleman.

And yes Semmy in my top 10. Wind back 10-15 years and don't tell me Semmy wasn't considered one of the best in the world. Most of his losses have been to all time greats. Such as Fedor, Nog and Barnett. Like i said the lower end of the top 10 are very much interchangeable.

:yep :D I changed my mind! In an ideal world Couture would be just outside of my top 10. The problem is there just hasn't been any consistency in the UFC or any number of champs that've had a long dominant reigns to not rank him inside the top 10.
