Some people here are dissapointed at Gamboa not blasting PDL in a couple of rounds-how come?, Lopez took care of daniel in one round!-and then the analogies keep on coming: names as Mtagwa,Salido come to everybodies minds. Some people here dont understand **** about boxing or just are too biased to give it a try.
Gamboa wasnt fighting a tomatoe can last night. He was fighting a multiple ex world champ who has improved 80% of his game.PDL didnt come careless last night,he was putting pressure but being careful of not open himself like he did against lopez. He just fought-and won in my eyes-the hottest name at 130 lbs.
But again, some people were not impress by gamboa last night-who in my eyes was on his way of unleash himself the last rds and win by KO-but thats just my intuition. Some of the people that were not impress last night are the same that understand how Wlad Klits could go 12 boring rds against Ibragminov,or why Pac didnt KO Mosley and went the distance.
Or why Floyd hasnt win by KO since Hatton in 2007.
I'm not a delusional fan, i dont believe Gamboa beats Pacquiao, neither i believe that Solis beat any Klits,Lara is the underdog against Cotto,Rigondeaux still has miles to prove as a pro.But i root for them and back them up every single fight.
    that's boxing.

I agree with 90% of you post . . . you analogies actual detract from the points you are trying to make. Personally, I see Gamboa as a work in progress. He has all the tools to be the next RJJ, but he is actually trying to learn the art of boxing and master the sweet science. In my mind the end result will be a much better fighter that is well rounded. His ranking in the end will be much higher because of it.

He didn't look electrifying last night, not because he sucks.. but because of the caliber of fighter he was in with. It wasn't a Solis Type of opponent so Gamboa couldn't look as good. He fought a careful boxing match with PDL who both respected themselves to much... I thought Gamboa should have engaged more but he felt better just doing his work mid range and banking them rounds in.

He did dominate PDL with his outside boxing and utulizing his speed to keep PDL away.... He just didn't feel like exposing himself to a big shot all the pre fight commentary must have made him extra careful.... and the buzzing he could have had with a great performance specially with lots of Mexis wathcing the fight would have been great for his career... missed a good chance. also needs to fix the low blows and head buttings that were present with the solis fight as well, im surprised PDL stayed up with that super hard head butting that ended the fight..

Only fights I would like to see at 126 are

Mikey Garcia, Lopez, Chris John and Maybe Johnny Gonzalez..

it would be interesting a rematch Lopez vs new version of PDL.
Lewis got KO by McCall in 2 rds, yet he avenged his defeat in a rematch, same aginst Rachman.
Lopez has insane power, and its no shame to get caught by his heavy hands and go down.

Ponce is a solid basic guy like Salido or Barros. Gamboa just lacks a little fantasy, inspiration when hes in with those guys. I never expected Gamboa to blow him out. I´m just mad that the fight got stopped on that baby cut because i had my money on Gamboa after 12:twisted:
Juanma just catched him cold in the first its been more or less an industrial accident Ponce took scary shots before he got stopped that would have put most into a coma and his chin is definitly above averange imo

Gamboa fought a ridiculously intelligent fight. Ponce de Leon has power, Gamboa knows that he wasnt going to be stupid and rush in and be wild. I, myself, was pretty damn impressed with Gamboa! Ponce De Leon is a friggin quitter though, couldnt handle Gamboa, was clearly getting frustrated so he used that pathetic excuse for a cut (which didnt even look to be bleeding 2 seconds later) to quit , Victor Ortiz style

Gamboa actually looked very good last night. He's getting better technically. Lemmings don't know what they're looking at.

That's Gamboa pattern, he looks great in one fight then looks 'less than' in the next then he looks great then he looks 'less than' in the next.......So expect a great showing by Gamboa in his next fight cause against De Leon he looked 'less than'.

Well then I guess I am a delusional fan! I don't agree with you at all here, Gamboa can beat anyone INCLUDING PAC, Rigo the same, Lara the same but Solis remains to be seen do his knee injury and weight problems. I am not the type that has to " see to believe ", I believe without seeing.

Nothing has changed in Gamboa. PDL is a world cass fighter that is all, a good one. On top of the fact that PDL fought a careful fight. Gamboa still dominated the fight. I honestly do not see real danger for him at 126-130
