The point was that a KD is not automatically a 10-8 round.

If the ref gets it wrong are you saying a judge should just go along with it even knows it was the wrong call?

Absolutely. The ref is in charge in the ring, the judges are there to judge the fight. Sometimes they get it horribly wrong, but you can't just start ignoring the referee.

Say a ref takes a point off for a low blow, say it's the first time in the fight, but utterly flagrant. The judge feels its unfair so ignores the deduction. Kind of makes it a waste of time having a ref in there, doesn't it?

Kenny Bayless making the wrong call in Pac-Mosley is a good example. Like it or not, the ref called it that way. The judges need to score the round taking account of that. They're not their to provide a check and balance to the referee's actions.

The judge has to score the knockdown, whether he thinks its a 10-8 round is another matter.

I've already said a point must be deducted if the ref says so(regardless of how correct it is). Unlike a knockdown, it is a direct order from the ref.

If someone can point to where it states a judge MUST score a knockdown, I'll be obliged. As far as I am aware, it is expected but not mandatory.

Tallies up to 114-113 for Prescott. That false knockdown, affored Prescott the win on my card. Otherwise it would have been a draw.

    Prescott - McCloskey
    10-8 10-9 10-9 9-10 10-9 10-9 10-9 9-10 9-10 9-10 9-10 10-9

    115-112 Prescott

The KD was legit, McCloskey's punches seemed to have no power to them, whereas even Prescott's jabs was hurting McCloskey.

    Prescott cheated not defeated!

Also, I had no idea Prescott had so many Irish fans. They were very vocal in cheering him everytime he blocked one of McCloskey's tame punches.

my issue with the kd was that it was not the glove or a punch that knokcked McC down. If you watch the replay its obvious that prescotts arm caught mcCloskey and it was more like a clothesline. I just don't think he touched down as a result of a punch if you know what I mean.

The Irish appreciate a defensive masterclass.
