Interesting. Always thought Wink would make a good trainer.

Let's hope this one pans out.

I bet Winky's a damn good trainer. Dawson could learn a lot from him. Hopefully Dawson keeps an open ear, he's not known for his listening skills.

    One thing to remember:
Winky fought Hopkins, and so will tell Dawson, all the stuff he went through in that fight.

I was sickened to read what WInky said.

Bad enough Hopkins had made Winky fight way over his then usual weight.
Winky said every time ref was in the wrong position, Hops either headbutted him or hit him in the balls.

How many years did it take Hatton to acknowledge the fact.

Hell Jake LaMotta is now 90 and said anyone who says Vikki wasn't the most beautiful woman in the world, he'll still take him down.

Winky Wright? Haven't heard that name in a long time. Good to know he's still breathing.

Yeah Winky wouldn't be a bad guy to learn from I guess.

He was scheduled to fight about 6 months ago against Macklin but had to pull out due to injury. He was also chasing Martinez earlier in the year but I believe HBO rejected the fight.

It's possible we might not see Wright in the ring again but if he were able to secure a Martinez type fight I do believe he'd take it.

With Hatton the writing was on the wall as he showed little to no interest in fighting again after the Pacquiao fight.

Wouldn't mind seeing him box again. Seemed like both a nice guy and a very good boxer.

Who can ever forget him fearlessly dropping his hands and giving the great Sugar SHane Mosley freebie shots all he wanted to hit him, and making SSM look bad!?
