Word on the scene is that Ricky Burns who recently ducked Broner is moving up to lightweight to take on our own warrior Mick Katsidis :bbb

According to the scene Frank ****** has confimred that the fight will go ahead in November with a recently vacated title on the line in Glasgow? (WBO or WBA intrim i'm asuming?)

Not a smart move by Ricky and his team, avoiding Broner only to take on a lethal slugger and proven baddass in Katsidis.

I see this going 5 high paced rounds ending with Kats body shots.

What does the Aussie contingent think?

Katsidis should eat this guy alive. Kat is far to strong for this guy, stupid move imo, he should have fought Broner.

To me it indicates he actually was struggling with the weight. I'm not completely sold on Broner. He stunk the joint a couple of fights ago and got a bit of a gift if memory serves me.

    Good point about burn's weight.

A few question marks in this fight. On face value, fighting katsidis first go at lightweight is not recommended although guerrero handled it quite easily. Im thinking that burns' camp look at kats as someone on the slide....im kind of in that boat.

I took nothing out of that lozada fight, im suspicious micks best days are behind him. Still, burns wont have it easy thats for sure. Maybe mick destroys him...i dunno.

I don't know how people can say he ducked Broner when he is stepping up a weight division and a power puncher like Katsidis who has KO'd 2 british (top contenders at the time) fighters.

Gud to see we're in the same boat PJ.

This is a much easier fight for Kats than Mitchell was/is. If he ain't able to get rid of Burns at 135, than he needs to get out of the game. Coz Burns can't fight a lick and Frank W@rren knows it too.

I think one of the big factors here is that GBP wouldn't let Broner travel at this stage and Mick wouldn't hesitate to...Burns goes from pedestrian to not to bad when he has a Glaswegian crowd behind him.

He was meant to be fighting Broner in the States.

    It all make sense now
Marquez is elevated to Lightweight "super champ" leaving ordinary world champ spot vacant & is now scheduled to challenge Pacman for Welter title.
Interim Lightweight titlists Guerrero gets to sit on his arse, while Super Feather titlist Broner & Katsidis fight for vacant Lightweight ordinary world title.:lol::lol:
