If Penn is so good on his feet, how did Edgar do so well? I'm not saying he isn't, I'm just curious.

    Diaz UD.

His cardio will be the difference as he slowly takes control of the fight.

in my opinion robbie lawler is twice as dangerous as penn standing and diaz ****ed him up.

What Edgar lacks in power and intent, he makes up for in elusive movement, speed, and cautiousness. He is going to be extremely difficult for anyone to ever outbox, unless they catch him with something monstrous like Maynard did last time but also maintain the pressure, which Gray couldn't do. Edgar is a livewire, he's kind of like certain volume punchers in boxing like Joe Calzaghe, who aren't particularly clinical or precise or potent fighters but remain very hard to beat on account of their activity levels. In my opinion, Penn is a more incisive, dangerous striker than Edgar (he strikes to cause damage), while Edgar is more strategic and disciplined (he strikes to win points and not take damage in return).

Two different types of striker, is all. The purists will favour Penn, the pragmatists will favour Edgar.

Lawler has more raw power, more weight behind his shots, but he isn't as good a boxer as Penn these days IMO. Same scenario with Daley.

Holy crap dude, don't start this MMA Math ****. Diaz lost to both Diego and Sherk, both who were destroyed by Penn.

To answer your question, not sure but I wouldn't be surprised if Penn did. But who cares, penn lasted with Machida who is a much better striker than Lawyer. Penn did better standing against machida than Rashad did, does that mean Penn can beat Rashad?

Penns better at everything his boxing is IMO technically way way ahead of Diaz who despite the hype around his boxing he is just a good brawler with an amazing chin! Metals break down is pretty much spot on as usual!!

BJ by KO via dirty boxing and overhand rights. Would love to see BJ get the step up knee and plum going and catch Diaz leaning.:!:

Diaz will have his moments but I think Penn will be able to counter Diaz on the most part and maybe even take him down a few times and win a UD.

i wasnt going there i just wanted to know peoples thoughts.
theyre two very dangerous dudes. given the choice i wonder who most fighters would say theyd rather be in the cage with. :think
id guess penn only cause hes more likely to submit you therefore giving you the option of leaving the cage concious.

A bit of an unfair fight considering the size difference, but as long as Penn didn't get caught with anything big, I'd still say Penn anyway. Better skillset and a granite chin.
