I remember the tyson holyfield fight i was a small kid back then everyone is watching it the streets are empty because everyone is watching it he is really a big name a real global icon... Ali is also a big name he is bigger than tyson i think because ali used to symbolize boxing back then.. Let's not put floyd's name near this two it a shame... NO WHERE NEAR BABY!!!

If anyone even knows floyd's in other countries besides America... they will tell you that this man is a coward...

can't even put the word coward near Tyson and Ali's name hahaha

In modern times, Tyson. I remember reading how Oprah taped a show live from Atlantic City for the Tyson-Holmes fight, including live interviews with both. When has the mainstream media cared anywhere near that much about any fighter since?

Before that it was Leonard who everybody knew, wanted a piece of, and of course Ali who still one of the most famous and recognisable faces and figures in the world today.

Before that you had your Marciano's, Joe Louis's, Jack Dempsey's, but media capabilities back then weren't as good so I guess they wouldn't have had the worldwide exposure that Ali did and fighters since, even if they were more a part of the American national culture back then.

ALI is the cornerstone or poster boy of boxing for sure. He's known as the "Greatest" and he's had movies and documentaries and books written about him. Ali's popularity spiked to its highest level during the 1996 olympics. And NO ONE was more popular world wide than Ali at that time. But during their careers...respectively the Tyson Mania was insane bro. Ali was super popular as well but he had a lot of detractors based on being black at a time where there was a lot of racial inequality....and he was in the middle of all of that.

    Ali not even close

to compare, Floyd would be a D-list reality star compared to Ali being Al ****in Pacino

I know a lot of people are saying Tyson, had he's a legitimate choice. But one has to remember that boxing use to be much bigger than it is now. When I was younger the world stopped to watch Ali- Frazier, and I can only imagine what must have happened during WW2 when Louis was fighting Schmelling. At when Dempsay was fighting boxing was at it's absolute peak drawing over 100K fans for some of his fights. So it's not an easy question to answer.

I personally have to think the biggest event in boxing history was the 2nd Louis- Schmelling fight.

    Lois
    Ali
    Tyson
    De La Hoya

All four would get more media coverage than PBF any day of the week and twice on mondays. PBF will never and could never attract so much attention as any of the four mentioned. Nuff said!
