To be fair the Jackal was post-Quon as well:
"Barry’s been saying a lot of good things about me and people are quick to jump on the bandwagon when you don’t perform to your best. These keyboard warriors like to shout their mouths off so it was up to me to put on a show and I’m glad I did."

Ah pardon me, allow me to highlight this portion of the press release:
***It is unlikely the Boxing Union of Ireland will recognise the WBU belt***

I think your being too harsh on Rogan lads, it's fine to be critical and assess things as you see them but we all know he was using the WBU as a stepping stone and there's a long illusturias list of boxers who have used the alphabet sanctioning bodies when it suited them.

For God's sake people give out here when shows are cancelled and say what you about the show in Mayo a few weeks ago but it was sold out, everyone got paid, the crowd had a great time and the undercard fighters got some much needed activity.

That is the view that I take with this.

WBU was a marketing tool to sell the fight. But, now that this off the table I think Rogan needs an all Belfast clash with Corbett or someone with a bit more interest than Pinata. I really hope this bill goes ahead as all of the Irish lads will get a run out on the under card.

I agree with most of this, as I would rather have any show than no show at all. The bottom line is, 99.9% of the crowd that would have been going to cheer Rogie on for the WBU bauble would have been aware of the Klitscho's and their dominant position in the division.

Rogie/Corbett would be an entertaining contest, but there's no way it could fill the Odyssey or Kings Hall.

Paddy Power have put up odds for the World Boxing Championships for the Irish lads.

    To win a medal
    Joe Ward 1/2

    Darren O'Neil 7/4

    Ken Egan 6/1
    Ray Moylette 10/11

    Michael Conlon 10/3

    Roy Sheehan 8/1
    Paddy Barnes evens

    David Oliver Joyce 6/1

    Con Sheehan 10/1
    John Joe Nevin 6/4

    To Win Gold
    Joe Ward 4/1

    John Joe Nevin 14/1

    Roy Sheehan 66/1
    Ray Moylette 8/1

    Michael Conlon 20/1

    David Oliver Joyce 66/1
    Paddy Barnes 10/1

    Ken Egan 33/1

    Con Sheehan 66/1
    Darren O'Neil 12/1

I done both Paddy Barnes and John Joe Nevin to win Gold seem too big of a price. I know it will be hard for all the lads.
