Call Me Crazy But I Think Price Can Give Klitschko a Hard Fight

Hi Guys this is my first post on this forum. I would like to hear your opinions on David Price, what do you think of him as a fighter? do you rate him?, is he the best British heavyweight?. I was watching Vitali vs Adamek the other day and Vitali was yet again so dominant and he looks unbeatable.. but it kept crossing my mind I would love to see Dave Price have a shot against this guy, and there is a few reasons why:

David Price is 6'8'' and 255 Ibs, so he will not be smaller like both the Klitschko's recent opponents Haye and Adamek, both of who are light heavyweights/crusierweights, they are much smaller in terms of height, weight and reach.

David Price is undefeated (12-0), beating all of his opponents comfortably, his most recent fight he smashed Tom Dallas quite easily.
He has won Gold at the commonwealth games at Super Heavyweight.

He is a very agile heavyweight, I have personally seen Dave Price fight LIVE 4 times, I saw him against David Ingleby, Raman Sukhaterin, Raphael Butler and Tom Dallas. Every time I saw him he really impressed me and I saw something in him, something that I haven't seen in any other British heavyweight since Lennox Lewis days, David Haye is a cruiserweight and I have never been impressed by him nor have I ever liked him. Price is bigger than both Klitschko's although its not by much only 1 inch and about 10 Ibs but he is one of the few really big fighters I have seen that has seriously good condition and boxing, he doesn't just slug it out, he has pin point punches and moves very well. I was reading a artice by one of his strength and conditioning coaches who said that it takes Price about 40 mins to get a sweat when he is on the treadmill at a fair pace, now that is amazing for a guy his size, he also said Price's cardio is off the charts and can out work alot of welterweights they have in same gym.

I think alot of the promoters know Price is very dangerous and could potentially beat anyone on a given night but his personailty is very very quiet, he is very calm and doesn't speak much, they tried to put him on a few shows like Ringside but he never comes off to well because he doesn't say much and isn't very animated and sadly now in boxing alot of hype and talks sells fights rather than ability. Haye for instance only got Klitshcko because of his rude dirty mouth. As we all know the heavyweight division is very shallow and there are very few top guys that the Klitschko's haven't beat so there isn't millions of guys in line to face the Klitschko's, thats why I think with them matching Price up with top ranked guys can move him quicker to face either one.

So anyway my question is how would he do against either Klitschko? especailly with more fights under his belt and both Klitschko's getting older, i'm not saying Price should fight them tomorrow and would KO them both Tomorrow, but i'm saying that in time I think he would give them a very difficult fight and could win. What are your thoughts on this? would like to hear your opinions, I know Price is very close to a British heavyweight title shot, but I would just like to know how you think he matches up with either Klitschko brother. Thanks

I think Price will come out on top as the best British Heavyweight. I've seen him box in the amateurs, and I've seen him train years back also. He is coming along nicely. I think for his next bout though, they need to step him up a level...I definitely feel he is capable. I would favour him against Fury at this point also. Who knows if he can eventually challenge the Klitschko's, or if he can even reach that level...but he has impressed me so far.

by the way i also want to add that the word around Liverpool from people who went to some Haye camps said that Haye was sparring with Price for the Klitschko fight and the word was Price was messing him up, so much so that Haye's trainer was very unhappy with the sparring and thought that the height and reach was just the reasons, but from what people told me its not just the reach that was the problem, the fact was that Price was much better than Haye and messed him up even though he wasn't trying to go hard as its a big fight coming for Haye at the time. BUT this was just word on the streets round here and who really knows what goes on behind closed doors in the training although these people have alot of knowledge.

Welcome to ESB! I've only seen two of his fights on youtube but I agree that he has alot of potential.

Really big man with tight defence and good fundamentals. Like every up and coming fighter, better opposition will answer alot of questions about him. But from what I've seen, I'd pick him over Tyson Fury if they were to fight tomorrow. He seems to be flying under the radar compared to many of the other domestic fighters in Britain though?? Strange for an Olympic medallist...

Totally agree with you mate, glad someone else sees what i do. I think he will smash Tyson Fury quite easily to behonest, i think Fury will be in for a shock. I really hope Vitali does not retire soon because we will never see the Price vs Vitali fight, i would like it to happen in 2 years if Price keeps winning, i really think he could give them trouble for many reasons.

In seriousness, I've seen a little of David Price, most recently his brutal KO of his mate Tom Dallas, and he definitely has the potential. As someone else has said, would be good to see him in with Fury.

    What's Price's chin like?

you would think price has a chance and no doubt u prob think next year is liverpools year..hahaha..on a serious note..theres a reason hes won all his fights comfortabley and thats due to his opposition he beat tom dallas but the man came in at very very short notice..but price himself wouldnt take fury on at short notice which makes me think he dosnt fancy his chances...i think price has potential but the jurys still out plus hes a dodgy chin going on his amature days but that could have changed (cant see how tho)price needs to step it up..but as far as a klit bro goes.hes no chance..hes not fast enough..or does he possess enough skill..but as lots of hevays hes got power..way way to early for price and i dont think we will ever see prive vs a k bro...

lol. I'm not, but i am from Liverpool so i do have a biasis lol. but i do genuinely feel he can give them a tough fight in time to come as there is hardly anyone else for them to fight who they haven't already beaten.

Price stopped Fury in the amateurs, I know that is irrelevant now that we are in the pro's, but haviing watched both their careers develop...I could see him stopping Fury again. Looks like Price is a decent puncher, hasn't really been tested in the chin and endurance department much yet, but we will see. I wouldn't put him anywhere near a Klitschko just yet, but eventually we will see how far he can go...plenty of challenges out there for him to step up and meet.

I'd like him to clean up at British level, then there is plenty of other decent, upcoming Europeans to test him out against. I think he has plenty of potential, and possibly a good deal of improvement.

Prices camp have denied they ever recieved an offer from Fury, as has another boxers camp (can't remember the name). I know this doesn't mean it is the truth, but two camps coming out saying they have never recieved an offer to fight Fury after Fury and his camp claiming they did...a bit childish, but two against one...

    Thank you mate
Yes thats very true he is flying under the radar , and like i said i think the main reason is because of his personailty, his interviews are really dull and he doesnlt speak much and i never ever heard him say a bad thing about another fighter.. and in the modern day we all know that talk sells so much of the fight.

all he normailly says is "he is a good fighter" or "should be a good fight hopefully". the bigger mouths get all the attention i think lol.. if you know what i mean?
