Ortiz took it to fouling. After you foul, you should expect revenge. Floyd's revenge was completely legal, and it just happened to put Ortiz down for the count. Tough luck, Floyd wins.

he was knocked out. Ortiz did not win the event. Mayweather won the event regardless. My thinking is that if Ortiz went down that easily even when he didn't expect it, that once Floyd would have landed the left hook he would have stopped Ortiz anyway in a few rounds.

Marchant is a druken dumbass, and always tries to find a way to make himself bigger then the fighters. The one shining example to me is when he said to J.C Gonzalez after a lost to a prime Roy Jones did he fell ashamed that he couldnt make the fight anything more then a sparring session. The same guy that was almost fired by HBO for his untimely disrespect towards fighters.

Merchant won the event. The three people in the ring all put another black stain on boxing. Cortez for being inept as usual. Ortiz for using his head and making it blantantly obvious ffs. Mayweather for being a coward and cheap shotting Ortiz.

I dont care what anyone says, if you cheap shot someone your taking the easy way out whether it was deserved or not. Mayweather could have whooped him without all the drama and went away with some dignity, instead he went away looking like a bigger chump than he already is.

ortiz now goes off into the sunset as gatekeeper to 147. he s young- and he may come back- but i think this was way too early and would have hurt his confidence. he can kid himself cos of hte way it ended- but if he looks at the first 3 rounds - he can see he s not at that level yet. but then, who is.

makes you realise just how good guys like pac, floyd and even oscar were at their best.

No but he def won the crowd. Fans were so pissed at Floyd they were throwing drinks and **** on him when he was leaving the ring. They were booing so loud I couldn't hear the post fight interviews.
