Was it a cheap shot/sucker punch? Or did Floyd do the right thing?

Lets go is not one of the instructions a referee is to give a fighter, and nobody heard him look at the video Cortez is taking a point/ordering a ringside judge to take a point as Floyd Cheap Shots him he isnt even looking at the fighters so how can he say lets go?

    Basically.

Most guys would think of doing the same thing if they were in Mayweathers shoes and had got headbutted moments ago, but it seems we have a lot of pretenders around here.

He clearly signalled the fighters to box on with his hands, and I've watched numerous fights when the ref doesn't say 'box on' in those exact same words, but the fighters (who are not braindead) understand it and resume fighting. I know you hate Mayweather, but we all know how he fights and what he did was 'cheap', but within the rules. You should blame Ortiz for being an idiot.

i can't stand floyd at all but i think what he did is understandable .... ortiz just headbutted him and then was getting all wacky with the hugs... floyd wanted to fight and was angry I am sure... you don't drop your hands like that and not protect yourself in a fight, ortiz was stupid and the ref should have separated them clearly and signal them to begin clearly, though it does makes floyd look bad, l don't think he deserves the criticism as much as ortiz and the ref do, if anyone does

Ortiz' stupidity is what makes floyd look bad here in my opinion

I don't know if people here have actually seen footage of floyd actually attempting to touch gloves a second before he sparked Ortiz out?

That is why it was a disgusting act, a cheap shot/sucker punch. He did not do the right thing because he was being deceptive in his anger at what had just transpired. I think it was that as well as him possibly being concerned with what Ortiz might have brought later to the fight - I don't know, but that was cheap for the so-called money may

And in light of the Ortiz headbutt he deserved to be DQ IMO but that is the maximum penalty in the ring. He should be fined too

It is understandable he is angry but then he shouldn't complain when he was setting a deceptive trap with his flush shots on an unguarded Ortiz

If I put my hand out to tap you glove and you see that as a moment to be sportsmanlike so you also drop your guard and then as soon as we tap gloves instead of allowing me to adjust you ko me then forget about that being legal that's bull**** cheap shot sucker punch

I'm under no obligation to touch gloves with you though, read my post in the other thread, I did it as an amateur and got my nose broken, my trainer said "its your own fault" and he was perfectly right, I was pissed off at the time but a fight is a FIGHT, its a guys own choice to touch gloves or punch you in the face, if you want to touch gloves, at least be ready to dodge or block an incoming shot...PROTECT YOURSELF AT ALL TIMES is said for this very kind of occassion!
