Was it a cheap shot/sucker punch? Or did Floyd do the right thing?

I would agree with this but mayweather went to touch gloves! that is the difference here!

As for "get ready to dodge" that's pure bs man why not then touch with one glove and punch with the other if that's how we should think about this, floyd lunch him before he even too his first step back ie before ortiz's foot had landed while stepping back!

Sucker punches are a part of boxing. Headbutts are illegal and are not supposed to be a part of boxing.

Would you have rather Floyd lowblowed him instead of sucker punched him?

So if a boxer bites your ear off, or headbutts you causing you to bleed, you should go back to fighting only now with a cut as a disadvantage?

Bull****. You should hurt him back. If he was a gentleman and sportsmanlike he wouldn't have headbutt you.

by get ready to dodge I mean be prepared for a punch to come flying in, NEVER assume that the guy is just going to happily touch gloves and be all buddy buddy with you like I did, but I had a good excuse, I was an inexperienced amateur, Ortiz is a supposed world class pro.

In a boxing matchyou may apologise, but he may not accept it, you'll get some guys who will happily touch gloves, you'll get others who will try to smash your face in, you may even get someone who will PRETEND he wants to touch gloves and will then try to take your head off when you drop your guard, in the old days guys did **** like that all the time, you HAVE to be prepared for all of this....PROTECT...YOURSELF...AT..ALL...TIMES... even when trying to touch gloves.. ALL TIMES

Cortez said "Time in" and looked at the timekeeper, and Mayweather began punching at that moment.

It was legal as the ref had said box, but it was disgusting and cowardly by Mayweather and stupidity by Ortiz.

Ortiz had his arms still around mayweathers waist to apologise and Floyd hit a defenseless man.

please dont anybody tell me that was ok, it wasn't and if any of you have actually boxed and a decent level you would know why...

It is Vic's fault not protecting himself. It is a legal win. I prefer Floyd should have not done that. He could have shown his dominance in 12 rounds. All that was shown is Vic's stupidity and Floyd's opportunism.

Yes you have a point there bro but there are a few other factors here:

1-it has transpired both fighters were not clear on there being a call to fight on (make it worse what mayweather did!)
2-that is why after the first lunch Ortiz looked at the ref
3-the ref had messed things up like the piece Of crap he is was not showingby his body language that the fight was restarted
4-yes i agree we should protect ourselves at all times and I agree with your comments but there is a sportsman type way a professional carries himself too tbh

I remember during the DLH pernell fight pernell kind of went aw shucks and lowered his hands after he missed dlh... apparently trying to get dlh to lower his guard as he then fired off real fast at dlh but dlh kept his hands up and nothing happened... was very slick and always remember that when I think about the good of dlh

it is always your responsibility to protect yourself, that's how people get killed

first he headbutts him and then kisses and hugs him and then keeps his hands down as they are about to fight?
i think the guy had a mini nervous breakdown... who knows what he would have done next
