Was it a cheap shot/sucker punch? Or did Floyd do the right thing?

Im a mayweather fan but i aint as biased to say floyd didnt do any wrong. It might have been legal but Floyd motioned an embrace to be sportsman-like then popped ortiz when he wasnt paying attention. Its ortiz fault he wasnt protecting himself but floyd did him dirty too and this clearly tainted his victory and ruined what could have been a great fight/amazing ending to a great ppv card.

Dont get me wrong after Ortiz did that crazy ****, he deserved what he got. . . .but the fans deserved better Floyd!

He signaled with his hands to continue fighting, so Floyd did. What I don't understand is why he looked away.

Here, after he took the point off, he brought them back together and said let's go, and you can tell Floyd wanted no part of those apologies by Ortiz.

Nope ... it was self-preservation . Ortiz blatantly head-butted three times in the 4th round . Floyd fought within the rules and when the opportunity presented itself he disposed of the head-butting drty Ortiz in a quick decisive manner .

Well done and well deserved !

It was both a sucker punch and legal.

    IMO..

For his level, or at least for the level he is claiming to be at...

It is definitely a very cheap shot...

I would have applauded him if he stopped at the left hook, just like you know giving Ortiz the gesture that "how do you like that"....

But to throw a combination with the intention of finishing his opponent who was clearly not on guard...

It's like a policeman who got shot at by a criminal, but the criminal ran out of bullets and surrenders but the policeman still shot him..

It's not a thing that a guy who is the best at what he does will do.....

so easy to sit here after the fact but when some guy as head-butted you , which is very dangerous by the way as in breaking your jaw and teeth , so after receiving a nasty head-butt Floyd is supposed to be lovey-dovey for the THIRD time ?

You guy's crack me up ... Floyd acknowledged his apology three times ... then he knocked out a dirty classless goon and now Floyd is the bad guy ? LOL

Ortiz I hope , gets suspended over his 3 head-butt performance in the 4th round

watched the video again CLEAR ILLEGAL foul, Cortez did not call time when this happend nor did he say box.
you can clearly see on the replay when you watch the "Replay the slo mo replay" Cortez was telling the time keeper to start the ring clock after the left hook was already thrown and landed

He said something like "Let's go". I guess by that he meant "Box on". Then he turned to the timekeeper.

Worst biased mexican poster on ESB?
Just watch the fking video, the ref stopped the fight, took 1 point away from Ortiz and then brought them back together and said "let's go", it's so damn CLEAR that he meant to continue fighting, not to continue apologizing and hugging.

Then why the **** was he instructin the time keeper after Floyd hit him to start the clock? you can not throw shots when time has been called, and lets go is not one of the three instructions a ref gives you.....

Cortez clearly instructing the time keeper to start the clock after Mayweather had already cheap shotted him.
