I thought it was just the hand sign and that would have been enough. Perfectly fine KO by Floyd there

No audio, this gif supports your agenda, but if you watch the series of events, the time keeper hadnt started the clock again which is why Cortez was looking away, he was instructin the time keeper to start the clock, by then the right hand was on the way, meanin the shots were thrown when time was officially called, and lets go is not a term used by a ref to instruct the fighters, its stop break and box

My problem is the ref told them "lets go", then tells the time keeper " you ready?" taking his eyes and attention away from the fighters. Looking at other fights that Cortez ref'ed, he's in between the fighters having control of the situation, then calls "time in" Then instructs the fighters to "Box".

the fact is that the boys were SIGNALLED to fight..

the fact is they BOTH heard the ref and saw him signalling

    What floyd did was ok

Ortiz had other plans even though they TOUCHED GLOVES after the headbutt

Ortiz fault, and on top of that he didnt lift his arms up after the 1st shot...again Ortiz fault

He was making sure the time keeper had started the clock. He was not asking him if he was ready.

When he said "Let's go" the time keeper should have restarted the fight clock. Cortez was making sure that was the case.

There isn't set terms you must use to restart a fight you ****ing moron. You could shout "TANGERINE!!!" as long as you motioned that they should continue fighting, which is what that hand motion clearly means.

If he hadn't told them to fight why the **** were they walking toward each other? If he hadn't told them to move they'd still be in the neutral corners waiting for instruction.

Everything you said is spot on except he never instructed them to box, Lets Go is not a term used to instruct a fighter, you have three, Stop, Break and Box, Cortez never instructed them to box, Nor did he call time in at the time the shots where thrown

The ref never said box, signalling a fighter is not how you officiate a fight, time was not in.. Cortez is covering his ass right now by claiming he said time in which he didnt, at the time Floyd threw those shots Cortez was looking at the time keeper instructing him to call time in by that time Floyd already landed the first shot, the 2nd was on its way 1st shot clearly landed before Cortez instructed the time keeper to start the clock

Cortez called the fighters together to start fighting...not to hug. Naivete on Victor's part to think Floyd was going to play into his (third) plea for sympathy. Floyd had already accepted the apology, the first two times from Victor. It was time to FIGHT, and Floyd ended his night early. I did not like the circumstances around the ending (wanted to see more), but, it was 100% legal on Floyd's part. A rematch is not in order...but, I'd be willing to watch it (not for $69.95 though).
