personally i'm sick of looking forward to the fights, paying the ppv, staying up until the early hours..... and then witnessing either a farce of a fight or boxers getting screwed over by the officials. also sick of defending the sport and living in hope that things will get better.

theres probably been hundreds of threads like this over the years, but its the first time i've felt this way :-( it really is in a poor state. even the lowly domestic matchups are becoming more and more corrupt. feels like the organising bodies and money grabbing ppv channels are intent on hammering home that final nail in the coffin. sad times.

Tbh, Saturday night was an example of exactly why I love watching boxing.

I enjoyed Saturday. Fury vs Firtha, Smith vs Selby were good fights. Crolla's fight was good and so was Vargas vs Lopez. Morales fight was great and Alvarez's was much better than expected.

Main event was entertaining while it landed and the ending might have been **** but it was still a better fight than I thought it'd be so can't complain.

I ended up watching at my local kebab shop. Some guy called Mark who owns the place put the fight on.

the mayweather fight really left a sour taste for me and i watched it the next day! i think it just highlighted how unproffesional this sport can be, as well as increasing my hate for that nasty little twat (a talented twat but a twat all the same)

I used to get up for all the Tyson fights, watch Eubank, Benn and Watson on ITV, Herol Graham and Barry McGuigan on BBC.

Kaylor, Christie, Mason, Honeyghan, George Collins, Darren ****ing Dyer, delayed showings of Hagler fights, Leonard vs LaLonde, Sportsworld extra with their showings of Simon Brown, Pernell Whitaker.

Barry Michael, Najib Daho, Rocky Lockeridge, Harold Knight, Pinklon Thomas. Christ, Don Curry vs Milton McCrory. Charlie Magri, Collin McMillan, Hughroy Currie, Horace Notice, Funso Banjo.

It was all on tele, it was all free and it just felt better back then.

I bang on and on and on about this, PPV is killing the Sport.

To me a Sport is about everyone having access to watch it, Sport brings pleasure to peoples lives no matter what background you come from.

When you limit or charge a person to access content which 9 times out of 10 is not a PREMIUM product so should not come with a PREMIUM price. Why do you think SKY don't charge you a PPV price for Football, the format DOES NOT WORK.

Only in Boxing can they get away with it, that just shows you 1) What mugs we are 2) But also how loyal fans are to the Sport.

I will do what i do whilst i have a hole in my arse, or i turn ***** & turn to MMA
