I recently ordered some boxing stuff for our gym here in Hawaii, I ordered it from Ringside's website, paid for it with my CC which I was charged (the transaction completed through my bank).

Well, instead of getting the order, I get an email from a RINGSIDE "Shipping Specialist" who tells me that it will cost and additional $45.00 (USD), to send ONE PAIR of 12 oz. gloves from Kansas to Hawaii via FEDEX and, get this, it will take a week.

I was additionally offered a $40.00 shipping rate for SURFACE rate which takes a month.

The truth is that it costs less than $20.00 to mail via USPS with insurance and tracking and it takes about 3 days.

The point is that this is another company that loads exorbitant shipping fees in order to make additional profit. It wouldn't be so bad if they stated that the cost included "handling & fulfillment" or something like that but they don't.

To any who care, I found a much better equipment company, with a great selection and REASONABLE shipping rates.

No sweat, I don't mind paying for the 'good stuff' but when they jack up the shipping prices far beyond what actual shipping costs are, I call that deceptive.

I didn't ask the www.Boundboxing.com guy if they would ship to Europe but he (Mr. Medina) seems very reasonable (he was very fair with me) and I'm guessing that he would do the same for you.

More importantly however, is the fact that this guy KNOWS his stuff. I've been in boxing in one form or another for 30 years and after talking at length with him I can tell you, he really, really knows his boxing equipment.

He's a coach too and his kids box so in short, he's a "boxing guy" through-and-through and you can tell he loves the sport. So different from the usual "reps" who work at RINGSIDE and Title who rarely seem to know anything about what they are selling beyond what's written in their catalog or on the website.

Hope this is of some help.

These stores, all of them, lack logistical options. Trying to ship to puerto rico is the same issue.

I ordered a few bits and pieces off ringside, the total cost of which was about $200, I got an e-mail a few days later saying shipping would cost something like $150, I promptly cancelled my order.

Unreal huh? Maybe they've gotten so big (and rich) they don't care anymore.

Your shipping issues seem to be location specific.

Beyond that? Ringside has gone down the tubes as far as their equipment. Pure garbage from their crap ****stan production facility.

I was burned twice, but tried one more time. I bought a pair of all white IMF tech 18oz sparring gloves. They arrived covered in yellow stains like someone spilled coffee on them and with dead bugs (moths) in them. I ordered youth gloves for kids at the gym too and it looks like they used the adult elastic strap cover on those little gloves and it looked ass sloppy. I had to ask them to stop sending me catalogs. No killing trees for that junk equipment.

Rinside is dead or dying a slow death.

I'm actually sorry to read that yet it doesn't surprise me, their attitude seemed like they no longer care. Maybe John Brown (owner) is getting too old. Waaaay back when, they were good, unfortunately it's a very different story today.

I forgot to mention it, we did end up placing an order with RIVAL and you are right, the equipment was excellent (and rather stylish) and shipping prices very reasonable.

It was all that I would expect in the way of excellence bearing Russ Amber's name.

The irony is that Russ was Brown's Canada rep. Still might be for all I know.

I'm definitely not going to buy anything from ringside. I've often heard negative reports on other boxing forums but it seems to be spreading.
