If that quote is correct then I can't condone it, but that still doesn't quite explain why Floyd Mayweather Jr acted the way he did on Saturday Night. Nor does it explain his reaction to Merchant's questions after the Baldomir bore-fest.
Who gives a **** if that princess can't handle criticism and if Larry doesn't kiss his ass like all the ho's Mayweather pays to kiss his ass... It was an interview, Larry was asking the questions we'd expect him to ask. Floyd had no reason to go into that hissy fit, he's just a hater of successful old jewish man who knows more about boxing history than him.
And the fact he hurt his hands in the fight has no bearing on that? Give me a ****ing break. That's like saying his fight with Carlos Hernandez was dull after Mayweather BROKE HIS ****ING HAND! If Manny Pacquiao were to bust his hands on the head of a BIGGER FIGHTER WHO HAD A HEAD OF GRANITE and box him to victory, he would get NOTHING BUT PRAISE. Take that to the ****ing bank, because you know it is true.
^^^ This. Merchant has expressed his dislike about Floyd's ways quite a few times, not necessarily to his face. But he's done it time and time again. And I like Merchant.
He also called Floyd a Prima Donna on Sunday. What should we say about that? And Merchant said the quote in my post pre Mosley fight just before the fighters walked to the ring.
This is where we differ. It is not his job to criticize him. He won the ****ing fight. And believe it or not, there are people out there who actually appreciate boxers who aren't sluggers. What ever happened to being objective? If you like a certain style of fights, then fine. I like defensive fights as well as slugfests. But I don't like my PPV ruined by some old drunk ***git who talks nonstop bull**** every time certain fighters are discussed.
...and i'm not complaining about the whole thing, either. I can understand Floyd being pissed off with Larry but I also will be very disappointed if that old fart isn't in the ring interviewing Floyd after his next fight. It's must see TV.
Larry is right. He forgot though that he asked Floyd the same question twice, and was set to ask it another way a third time.
Actually, Larry Merchant was just saying how Floyd was dominating the fight and was in control, and that is when Floyd's dummy came out.
Addie, nothing against you at all, but if you need evidence that Merchant discredits and criticizes Floyd at every opportunity he gets... well I must assume you havent watched Floyd on an HBO feed for the last 10 years.
