Why would someone do that, though?

I guess my point was, going off what you'd said to the OP about whether he had an actual source or just saw a fantasy match-up on another boxing forum and mistook it for breaking news - well, if the latter was the case he wouldn't have "heard" it was going to be at Mohegan Sun. Usually in bull**** fantasy match-ups they don't bother specifying where it would hypothetically take place (it would be pretty arbitrary and strange to do so). So, as you've said it would have to be made up by someone. I just don't understand why anyone would take the time to plant a rumor of X vs. Y @ Z venue. What does that stand to gain anyone?

what the hell is wrong with a "name" making some noise for boxing? it don't matter how he got here...bad press is still press....I'm sick of not seeing by favorite sport in the headlines....this weekend put it there...and anyone who is going to continue to get casual fans to talk is more than welcome in my book...

I think this fight is way too soon for Kimbo. Tye Fields is no top contender, but he has fought former contenders and title challengers, and even won a couple of those fights. But if Kimbo wins this fight, he's on the fast track to a world title shot.

I thought Kimbo's management would've let him fight about 10 novice level pros before they would even consider throwing in him with the experienced guys.

Great, brings some hype to boxing and will show it takes a career of hard work to become a contender. If Kimbo remarkably somehow wins it just builds up the next fight. He doesn't have a snowflake's chance in hell of beating a top 10 fighter so I don't think the sport will be disgraced

Yeah... bad choice Kimbo. He has absolutely no cardio, his chin is questionable and Tye has a great reach advantage. This one's easy for Tye.

If someone was going to fabricate a tale of two boxers matching up I don't see it so great of a stretch to think they may also give it a location.

Kimbo ends this in the first round. Fields chin is pure glass. Kimbo's bringing excitement back to the heavyweight division.
