I'm wary of this whole BoxNation thing and will probably give it a few months before deciding whether to subscribe. I just get a nagging feeling that Frank knows this channel won't survive on monthly subscriptions alone and there will be PPV events (probably cheaper than the competition but PPV nonetheless) somewhere down the line. It looks good value now (much better than asking for fans to pay £15 per show!) but I'll bide my time and see what is produced before signing up.

Make no mistake, this is a heavy investment by a UK promoter and FW should be applauded for making such a commitment...but from a business and market sense it should be a move viewed with caution. This is a big (if calculated) risk he is taking here.

As I always do, I'll wait till I see the full offer and online options. But for £10 a month, I'd like to support the sport and see more of it rather than nothing.

I'm hopeful that BoxNation can effectively kill off Primetime. I doubt that Premier Sports will be able to compete with them for fights either.

Would be good if BN could get a hold of the UFC coverage but that seems extremely unlikely to me.

'Fraid I hope the opposite - channels seem to like lumping other sorts of fighting in with boxing, have never really understood it as the sports are quite different. If we are to have a boxing channel, I personally hope that it stays boxing, I have no interest in UFC and would be less likely to subscribe if BoxNation handled both as for me it would just dilute the boxing and I would fear that UFC would take over, over time, being generally a younger sport with fewer issues.

I don’t have a problem with MMA. I don’t really enjoy it that much, but it doesn’t bother me if it helps to fund the channel. UFC has had very little terrestrial coverage and has managed to grow and grow. Boxing could do the same but only if it stops all the ridiculous competition when they all want the same thing.

Honestly, how can you complain about Boxnation - it sounds great. I will definitely be paying a tenner a month for it and I will keep my Sky.

Is Boxnation just going to be Frank ****** fighters or is he going to buy in some US cards? I can't see him buying the super fights. Mayweather is probably staying with showtime, Pacquaio with Sky. Still to sell it to the general public and not just the hardcore fan he's going to need plenty of content. 1 thing this is likely to mean is FW fighters having more fights and maybe that's a good thing, whether they get competitive fights or just fluff though is another matter entirely.

I won't be buying it, why should I pay an extra tenner for what I had anyway if Fwank wasn't greedy?

It ain't my problem he payed the olympians stupid amounts before they take the head guard off!

It can't be done fairly if the promoter owns the channel surely?

I have to agree with this post.

If this wasn't here, we would be getting this stuff on Sky. People are happily going to spend £10 a month but were the same one's that were raging on Primetime for putting on the odd PPV.

The double standards on this forum...

Honestly makes me laugh at those idiots, and a lot of you know who you are.
