tbh, i think hes right... More People will pay Cotto vs Margo becoz people think this fight is much closer than it is...
Cotto vs Maravilla is just too much for Cotto.. and people will just say "Nah, im not buying it, its pretty sure that Maravilla will beat Cotto)

What he's really thinking: "There's no chance in hell I'll beat Martinez, I'll just be a stepping stone for sexy Sergio."

You are right but who at MW wants to fight Sergio? There is Pirog but does he really bring in the money Martinez is looking for? No. Chavez Jr. does bring in good money but Jr. doesn't want to fight him. Basically what Martinez is using as an excuse not to fight Pirog, is what is been done to him by Mayweather, Pac and Cotto.

WoW people are seriously overrating Martinez, his money fights are at 168 but instead of putting his skills to the test to earn the money and exposure he wants he rather go after smaller fighters who have already moved up multiple weight classes already.Miguel straight up laughed at martinez in that seckback interview and said that outside of pac/floyd/marg the martinez fight would make NO money for him.IMO marg is just a big a threat if not bigger to cotto than martinez because Miguel can move and set himself up at a slower pace against martinez who is by no means a masterboxer and has a flawed style too dependent on athletic ability rather than boxing skill and he aint no young buck either on the other hand marg will use his height and weigh, chin/stamina to pressure miguel and put him in a very uncomfortable situation.

Clear as day ducking. Cotto should fight Martinez at 154, but a rematch with Margo will be better PPV.

What has Martinez done to be held in such high regard????? Seriously the man doesn't want to pay his dues just like the rest of the successful fighters did. Cotto went through hell going up the ranks, now he sits comfortably at the top, he never called out anybody to make money he simply earned his spot by taking out opponents. Why doesn't Sergio call out Dawson or Tarver????

you are another idiot...according to you he is ducking because instead of getting a rematch with the guy that gave him his first loss and also possibly cheated which is more than enough controversy and will also give him the biggest payout and also start to rebuild his career since after that he hasnt really beat anybody worth anything you want him to go and give a fighter that doesnt quite deserve the fight and wont give him a better pay a chance .... YUP clear ducking

Off topic but this is the best post of the thread.

I gotta agree with Cotto that Margs is the bigger money fight, especially since Margs beat him with cement gloves the first time out. This fight is gonna be colossal.

But yeah, no way Cotto(who is my favorite 154lbr) beats Martinez. At any weight. Martinez could literally fight Cotto wieghtdrained at 150 and still outwork my man Cotto.

A smart duck by Cotto, but a duck nonetheless.

Unlike Floyd's duck of Pac, which would literally be the biggest $$$$ in the history of the sport.

i agree with you BUT i think its still too early to call it a duck... time will tell as of right now it is not a fight that benefits cotto in ANY way and we all know boxing is about $ now in 2 years if cotto is still around and martinez can bring it and cotto says nah then ill call it what it is. Just because a fighter has the capability to win a fight and the opponent says no doesnt mean he is ducking... if that was the case every fighter would have fought every1 and we know thats not how it works you need to pay your dues

So according to Mayweather haters, Cotto is a ducking coward.

Someone photoshop Cotto's head onto a duck.

:lol: He's a ducker, but he's NO coward in the least. This duck of Maravilla is strictly $$$, and in the end, Cotto will take his licks and retire.

Martinez would add the number 3 to Cotto's record, and even before number 12.

Then why dont he avenge his humiliating loss?

Then why dont he call Martinez out? Ive never seen Cotto call Sergio out. Look, Im a fan of Cotto since the Mosley fight so dont label me a Cotto hater.
