True Stories of Boxers getting Drunk before a fight?

Noel Wilders used to love going out on the ****, taking drugs between fights and even got a good hiding from being pissed up!!

 

not sure whevner iv been around people with coke theys always referred to it as gear but have heard people refer to herion as gear too...**** going into a fight with on herion or coke though!!!!

 

kevin mitchell seems a classic example as well heard a few storys that he was in the pub night before the kat fight!?

think scott had a pint of vodka at the press con for that fight. scott never used to say much but that con he was wanting to smash kebede which sent alarm bells for scotts team where one of his team tasted scotts water but found out it was pure vodka instead. im sure mr nelson can share more light on it

no, it was during the 6th fight (St. Valentines Day Massacre) that Jake was actually get fed brandy between rounds.

 

yeah knew it was one of the last couple of fights. Didnt he say he knew he was gonna take a beating so just liquered up and took it takes something to get in the ring with the greatest pissed out of your skull

 

Esp. when you've lost the last 4/5 times against the same guy.

 

I watched this fight a few weeks back and for Jake to be a so called bad ass he had the opportunity to sucker punch Robinson but pulled out and both touched gloves as a way of recognition.

I know everybody has one of these stories but on the eve of the murray vs mitchell fight at the echo arena, i was on a train from manchester back to liverpool and got talking to john murrays "uncle" who told me and my mate that john has been "living the good life" and was the man about town in the trendy bars ect. looking on the recent story then it bares some truth!!
