Which of the Mexican featherweight greats, lasts 12 rounds against Floyd Mayweather?

I think he'd beat them. But they are skilled enough to see the final bell. Again, especially Morales, I see no chance of Floyd stopping him.

But we are never gonna agree on this.

 

Floyd easily has the capacity to hurt all three Mexicans, and he has the ability to make all three fights one-sided affairs. He can make these fights so one sided that Barrera would lose heart, forcing Rudy Perez to intervene. Floyd can hit Morales with so many right hands it would cause both of his eyes to close, forcing either his corner or the ring doctor to stop the fight. Juan Manuel Marquez could get knocked down 3 times in one round. All of these things could happen because Floyd is ridiculously skilled and his opponents feel his punches.

I personally think it's pointless to pick out lesser fighters than Barrera or Morales that have seen the distance with Floyd Mayweather Jr. It's all about mindset. If Floyd Mayweather goes into the ring with these guys and throws as many right hand leads as he did against Victor Ortiz, then he can get the job done. If he comes back from a year lay off and wants to get rounds in, like he did against JMM, then sure, these fights could go 12.

 

All 3 stays on their feet, JMM might hit canvas couple of times. MAB and EM does not touch the canvas.

Though PBF was more offensively minded at the lower weights I don't think he can KO any of the 3 great Mexicans.

JMM being chinny has the most chanced to be stopped by ref stoppage.

 

Knockouts aided by ringposts and suckerpunching unprepared opponents does not make you all of a sudden a g KOing all time greats.

 

Barrera has no business fighting at 130-135. Morales gives Floyd fits.Marquez get's out boxed he won't get stopped at all. Floyd stops NDOU caliber boxers or chinny corrales/Hugton types.Include Ortiz on that list via a sucker punch.I love Floyd but he ain't no KO artist.

Morales chin got cracked more often than MAB's, and MAB was far more of a rounded fighter than the primarily offensive minded Erik at 130. Why do you pick MAB to get KO'd and Erik to lose a UD?

 

Morales is one of his favourite fighters.

 

You have a good point, they both have the bigger names above that weight, it's just many like to think that they were closer to their "prime" in SBW. They had a bazillion defenses at 122, so many would like to think they were closer to untouchable there.

MAB made 9 title defenses in a little over a year, but look at who he was fighting between 1995-96. Guys like Frank Toledo, Eddie Croft, Jesse Magana, etc. C level fighters who would have all been beaten even more conclusively if they fought a 01' MAB. Morales is a similar story.

you're forgetting Kennedy McKinney and EM 1, which is arguably the greatest fight of MAB's career. If you're just looking for a great performance from MAB, then I would pick Paul Lloyd. Marco took a competent journeyman fighter and just literally was beating him to death from the opening bell, as if he were totally defenseless. Cook, Croft, Salud and Sanchez were easily solid B level fighters. There's no arguing that MAB accomplished more at the higher weights, but imho he was at his best physically at 122.
