The gashes were from a fight he had that night apparently where he was attacked by some people throwing rocks at him.

The show basically makes him out to be a drunk and woman beater . . . .

If he never quit in the ring, why would he quit out of it?

Was Darren Sutherland a quitter aswell?

Just because someone is depressed/ill and they choose to take their own life doesnt make them a quitter or a weak person. After retirement he like many other fighters suffered depression. He was addicted to pills and had a drink problem.Depression does this to countless people all over the world.

Mario Costa, ID'd as a Gatti pal, backs the suicide theory. "He wanted to kill himself, he wanted to die," Costa said. The fighter got addicted to painkillers, and was hospitalized for an OD in 2005, the show reported. Medical records show doctors suggested a psych evaluation and his ex girlfriend, the show says, deemed the OD a suicide attempt.

Costa said Gatti once showed up at Costa's bar, and asked for a gun, to use to kill himself. Costa hadn't seen Gatti in three years before his death but says he thinks the fighter killed himself.

Arturo's brother Joe Gatti, also an ex fighter, is shown saying Arturo was on drugs and "was an alcoholic." The older Gatti said he thinks Arturo took his own life. "On that night in Brazil he found himself in a dark place," he said. Joe told the show that he thought Amanda might be suspect, but she won his trust.

Very compelling viewing. Very interesting that Joe Gatti thinks it was suicide. The test they done with the dummy and no blood being on the staircase is pretty big evidence pointing to murder.

Just months before champion boxer Arturo Gatti was found dead in Brazil, his wife vowed to friends that she would show him what kind of ***** she could be and kill him, witnesses told Quebec Superior Court, where a battle over the dead man's multimillion-dollar estate is playing out.

Two friends of the Gatti family - Marisa and Gisela Minero - told court Wednesday that after having dinner with Amanda Rodrigues in November 2008, the three women returned to the Jarry St. penthouse that Rodrigues, 23 at the time, shared with her husband, then 37.

Rodrigues received a text message from Gatti and "snapped," Gisela Minero testified. "She said 'If he thinks his exes were bitches, I'll show him. I'm going to be the biggest *****. I'm going to kill him,' " she said, adding that she didn't think Rodrigues was really going to kill Gatti.
