How do you compare Floyd Mayweather to Muhamad Ali?

They're both black other than that... Not a thing, Ali brags with confidence while Floyd jr brags with a chicken heart...

 

Floyd Mayweather not even close as far as greatness, Ali took on all comers. Beat a beast in Foreman when he was way past his prime.

Muhammad ALi brought joy to millions of filipinos with the thrilla in manilla. Floyd Mayweather is going to bring despair to millions of filipinos when he destroys pacquiao.

 

I was a kid during Ali's reign, born in 1966. You could look at it this way: If Ali were fighting today, the tea party conservative types would hate him and want to see him in prison, kids and decent people would love him. That's the way it was then.

My old man was a former Marine Corps boxer, a vicious, violent and virulent racist. For obvious reasons, Ali was almost a vicarious father figure to me and a lot of kids like me. There were comics written where he fought Superman, for ****'s sake. He was EVERYWHERE. It would be hard for you to understand how popular and influential Ali was during his time as champ, he was as famous as Elvis and maybe more so, all over the world. You could drop that dude in sub-saharan Africa and they would have known who he was. He was like Tyson x10. No athlete has even come close to that level of reknown since his day, not Jordan, not Magic, Not SRL, not Tyson, nobody.

 

Right, because if Ali isn't as sinless as Jesus Christ then nothing else he did counts. Climbing a building to save a man's life just because he could. Hopping out of his limo and wading into crowds signing autographs, shaking hands and hugging people. Going into ghettos and sitting on stoops, talking to kids for hours when he was the most famous man in the universe.

But hey, he had an argument with his wife at a party during his religious mania phase, so **** all that. He's an *******.

 

And that is why Floyd will never be remembered as a great in the way Ali is.

 

Like Ali or hate him,he's the GOAT at heavyweight.He has the best resume of anyone at that weight and one of the greatest resumes at any weight.Never ducked anyone and had more balls than anyone I can think of.Mayweather is a great boxer that has picked his way through several divisions.**** at 147,in my lifetime,I believe that Leonard,Hearns and Duran were better than he was,and maybe Benitez,too.Problem with Floyd is,he's neither a better fighter than Ali,nor a talker,nor an entertainer.It's not his fault,though.Who is/was?

You're right, that's not what defines Floyd. We've all had women troubles unless you love the ****, it just comes with the territory.

What defines Floyd is not having Pacquiao, Cotto, Margarito on his resume. Taking the easy way out and underwhelming us with his boatload of talent and thimble full of heart.

What defines Ali is his amazing courage, taking on impossible challenges and finding ways to win when everything is against him. He perseveres and somehow triumphs.

 

Ali like to trash talk his opponents and beat the **** out of him inside the ring.

Floyd like to trash talk his opponents and then goes into hiding.
