Yes, I was watching the fight where he messed up his shoulder, it was against Tsypko, in a very close fight I thought Lacy lost. Even if you want to give Lacy that one, he looked like **** against a so-so Contender, he really looked like a novice fighter, who continued to load up on his left hook, which didnt appear all that powerful at all when it did land.
I saw just saw the replay, and Lacy got spanked like a little stepchild. So what do you all think of the Tarver Vs. Lacy deal??? who takes IT??
If the fight happens, Tarver will knock Lacey out before the 8th round. Tarver still has a monster punch, and decent boxing skills, which is more than I could say about Lacy anymore.:yep
Joe could have gone byron-esque on his ass and 'owned' him as you say but instead he played safe an utterly dominated via his p4p, unbeaten, pure & raw boxings skills. What kind of an idiot would risk the fight that way considering it's importance? Unlike so many others Joe has an incredible fighting mind; Joe's a package. Pity this level of observation is above so many others.
Not even close. Hatton at least made it competitive for the first few rounds. Joe basically shut Lacy out & embarassed him.
I love that moment before the 3rd round where Calzaghe earnestly tells his dad: 'He can't punch ****! He ain't ****-all!' Calzaghe seemed surprised himself at the difference in skill. Anyone would be after reading the papers leading up to that fight. I believe Calzaghe and his camp didn't know exactly how good he was and how he stacked up to the world until this fight.
Bernard Hopkins v Tito Trinidad IS a top ownage fight if I ever saw one? Bernard totally outclassed a guy and then KO'd the fool
