Ok so I'm preparing an article on Box Nation before the channel goes live on the 30th. I know there's a few threads on this already, but now that the dust has settled i want some opinions, good and bad. I want to no a) if the channel is a good idea B) will you be subscribing and why/why not Just some general thoughts if this is good for britsh boxing/ boxing in general. What does it mean for sky? The best answers will be included in the article, and I'll post the link when I'm finished.
Yes and no. As a hardcore boxing fan you can't help but think it's a good idea, depending on whether all the mooted ideas come to fruition (amateur boxing, documentaries, news, magazine shows, international cards etc) the idea of a 24/7 boxing channel is great, but will this cut boxing off largely from the mainstream? im a bit worried it might. Yes i will if everything that has been promised gets delivered
just kidding bud, but like Gaz says ''pay up or STFU'' same goes with primetime. how long is the trial for:think coz he's got until that time to persuade me to buy so ill just wait and see what gets put on there:good
I will decide each month whether Im going to pay or not but bitterly dissapointed that it is not showing anything during the day.
We've been crying out for a dedicated boxing channel. And now it's happening people are turning their noses up. Are people really so naive as to not expect a channel to be controlled by one major promoter? This seems to be the major issue. I think it's a positive step. Boxing need continual investment and a steady source of income. Im happy to contribute. I don't see the major issue with the channel as a whole. Of course it will be a work in process. Things will needto change and improvements will be required. But at least we have someone who is trying to make the right investment for prospects, allowing ten to fight on a regular basis and a big stage for established fighters.
It's a good idea I think, Im going to give it a try while it's free and if it represents good value, Which at £10 a month is hard not to be, I will subscribe, I will add however, If Fwank starts trying to charge for PPV on top of the £10, He can **** right off.
It sounds like a good idea, but then again Fwank wouldn't make it out to sound like **** would he. I'll wait a few months and see if it delivers after the inital hype has worn off before I decide whether to subscribe or not.
