Suppose a fight between the 2 gets made for say.... May 2012, does Amir Khan stand a chance of winning? Can he outpoint Floyd? Can he knock him out? What would the book open at? Mayweather was 1-12 on to beat Ortiz at the start, came in to 1-10 at fight night i believe!

I think it may be competitive for a couple rounds. Khan has good handspeed and will land a couple shots from the outside. However, overall Mayweather is too elusive to be hit consistently and much much more experienced of course.

I think money would drive home a lopsided UD12 or maybe even stop Khan in the late rounds with a hook on the inside. Khan's inside game just isn't there to compete with a guy like Floyd.

Its a long shot. Floyd would be heavily favored in this one. I think ortiz had a better chance but blew it.

i think he has a chance. in the 140/147 pool i'd say only him and manny have a chance.

    i'd give him a 35% chance.

will be good to see how he handles peterson compared to how ortiz faired against him.

I thought Ortiz had a chance, i didnt think he would win but i thought he may have hurt Floyd. Not sure i see Khan hurting Floyd or doing enough damage to claim a points win!

Khan has a slightly better chance than Ortiz. Which isn't that much. Because I gave Ortiz no chance.

    @ this point I don't think he has a chance...late 2012 early 2013, with 2-3 mor fights under his belt against good/solid competition, I'd give him a 35-40% chance....

As skills go i remember a 17 year old Khan outboxing Kindelan, okay i know it's amateur but skills alone i think he can crack pretty much any defence even floyd's and as they put it speed kills. He would be Floyds toughest and most competitive fight since Castillo I fight. Close call but i think Khan needs a year or two yet as your prime is late 20's with most boxers but mayweather not getting any younger so the fight needs to happen either next year or after. Personally i'd like him to shut up Maidana who seems to forget he was the one on the deck on his pants rolling around in agony.

Not too long ago I would have found the notion of Khan facing Mayweather too ridiculous to contemplate, however Khan's workrate and hand speed I think could give Mayweather problems. Floyd is more flat-footed nowadays and I imagine will be looking to take the fight to Amir knowing that Khan has a suspect chin and that Khan has the height, speed and workrate to trouble him from long range. It is not inconceivable that Amir could win this one. Still I have learned a long time ago not to bet against Floyd.

He has a much better chance than any of the last 5 opponents Mayweather has faced.
