He's out of his mind. However, I applaud the fact that he's willing to do whatever it takes to get the fights he wants. He's a true champion. It's a shame he has to drain himself to get a big fight. Hagler never had to go below 160 to fight Leonard, Hearns, or Duran.

None of the top guys at 168 would drain themselves for Martinez, as he isn't a big enough star to go through that grind. Martinez just needs to focus on him. If he wants to fight someone in another weight class, he needs to go to that weigh class.

    this...^

he's really in a shity place right now, all the best fighters/fights are just out of his reach. i really think Mayweather should step up and fight SS, that would be huge. the guy fought half his career at WW, the second half at JMW, and just moved to MW in 2010 for a title shot. he's a not a big guy and is much closer to Mayweather's size than he is to Ward, Froch, Bute, ect...Pavlik and Williams dwarfed him. Props to SS for making the innitiative to trying to make these fights...

This man is really starting to sound pathetic. No one NEEDS to fight him, that's the problem. All the tweeting and "facebooking" won't help. If he wants to fight one of these guys, then he needs to go down to 150 or go up to 168, and fight at least once in the weight class, then maybe he'll get enough buzz. But as it stands now, he doesn't really have the market to justify anyone to go out of their way to fight him.

    Sergio is not Hagler.

This. He needs to worry about his own weight division and built up his name more. He's just chasing a big payday at this point, just like Bradley is, and he isn't even a name yet.

But he beat Williams and Pavlik convincingly, so I don't buy that if he really wanted to go up, he couldn't.

This. Freaking guy thinks that because he had 1 great year in 2010 that all of a sudden he deserves everything and is entitled to some superfight. The 3 guys he constantly is calling out spent YEARS AND YEARS, decade or so, building themselves, their fanbases, their brand up to where they have EARNED that right to get their big money fights and exposure. It isn't there fault that Sergio spent all but a little over 1 and 1/2 years doing anything. I'm pretty sure insulting them, especially the way he insults Cotto, isn't going to endear him to any of them.

****, unfortunately for him, he has taken over the moniker of one of the people he defeated, Paul Williams as not most avoided (though Williams liked to say that about himself like Martinez is doing now) but "Say anything he can to get big money fight". Maybe that KO of Williams sent Williams soul inside of Martinez because he is sounding EXACTLY like Paul Williams USED to sound like until well you know.

  11. Martinez is a real peoples champ. Pacman aswell, but you can see why sergio is putting him on the spot. When you have top p4p all near the same neighbourhood they should be fighting each other. Rather than talk about who is better.

He's willing to risk his health by going down 10 pounds, but not up 8 pounds to super middleweight?

Martinez is a warrior of truest sense. Only wants the best no matter if he has to drain himself or fight men much much bigger than him. What a champ. Best representative of boxing there is today.

There still aren't that many big name draws at SMW

There's a huge gap between lets say 140 paydays against the biggest names and then HW

Sergio is unfortunately stuck in the middle and his age is against him, moving down is better for him
