Pics can be deceiving. I think Sergio can make 154 easier than most would think. Not saying it would be a piece of cake, but he wouldn't be killing himself to make the weight.
Uh, the undefeated European champion. He's got several fights up on youtube. He's a fine fighter. Check him out.
Barker is a fine fighter, but he's not world class. Martinez is among the greatest fighters in the world currently. This is going to end ugly for the Brit.
Barker isn't **** and Sergio should be ashamed for taking this fight when he could have fought Pirog.
Sergio walks around I think in high 170's, but has a very low %body fat because he's a fitness freak. I would think Floyd, Manny, or Cotto would have a serious advantage to having Sergio drop down to 150, because at that point he'd be losing muscle mass. Guys never perform the same after doing that. At 150, I pick Floyd by decision, at 154 I pick Sergio by decision/TKO. At 160, Sergio by homocide. Dibella needs to just start doing a better job of creating some hype around Sergio. He seems like a guy that could really generate alot of hype (atleast in hispanic markets). As far as opponents go, it's a damn shame Dibella didn't put Macklin on the undercard, he needs to start building some publicity for the Knife. Hope he atleast gets him an ESPN fight in December.
Dibella is trying. There's an article over on the Scene that is Boxing where Dibella talks about the difficulty of building hype when no top draws will fight him, and because there are a limited number of Argentinians in the US. He's taken Sergio to Mexico to build a following.
