Jessie Vargas is a perfect tune up fight for khan to face mayweather.

i agree with that... but we both know boxing doesn't work like that..... it's predominantly about money and in fact the khan vs mayweather fight is one of the most lucrative fights out there. it likely will happen.

Khan ****s Vargas up at this stage

Edit: Most probably at any stage unless Khan goes RJJ on us in the near future

    I am? :?

I had him just barely edging out Jose Lopez by a single point and thought he got a gift against Favela. :yep

Facts are facts, though. He is not really a "come forward" type of fighter when not on the good side of a mismatch or going for a finish; his power is better than average and enough to hurt Khan with a good shot; and he is in no way "tailor made" for Khan due to styles. It's nothing to do with styles. As Jim Watt would say, it's about levels. Khan is just on a higher level than Vargas.

I'm certainly not asserting that the kid is a master boxer with hands of stone. He isn't. He is a good prospect with some flaws. The OP just gave the impression with that inaccurate description of him as having in reality seen little to none of Vargas - since confirmed.

Yes, you are correct. The business side has pretty much taken over the sports, or competative side, of boxing.

Vargas is trash, he doesn't deserve a fight with Khan. Maybe when he can do more than get a split decision against a no hoper. Also he spells his name like a girl

If that's the only reason you've heard of him, you've gotta follow more boxing. It was actually only just recently that I found out about him being part of Mayweather Promotions (may have just been a recent acquisition) but he's been on the prospect hot list for a long time now performing on Solo Boxeo cards and the like.

Ortiz is safer than Brooks for Khan, IMO. Watch how many people disagree. (and how many "BUT DIDN'T YOU SEE HIM BADLY HURT FLOYD WITH HIS AWESOME POWER AND ACCURACY!?!?!?" posts get made)
