Hagler threw a rock or something at his wife's car, but was never convicted or even arrested for putting his hands on her.

Leonard admitted that he abused alcohol, drugs, and Juanita in a press conference in 1991.

Robinson, well, watch a documentary on him.

Those excerpts quoted his former wife, Juanita, as saying that Leonard used cocaine on occasion and physically mistreated her while under the influence of alcohol.

GORDON: Boyd also tells of a darker side of Robinson. He found that he was a man with a dangerous ego; a womanizer who, in fact, was abusive to his wife.

Mr. BOYD: He abused a lot of people who came close to him, particularly the women in his lives. I mean, you talked about the beatings that he gave to Edna Mae, and she recounts that vividly. But hitting women, I was just absolutely turned off by that, and my admiration dimmed of him.

a good number of great fighters have very, very dark sides to them.

it makes sense though that someone would have an ugly violent side when they train all the time to hurt people and be violent.

I thought fighters were less likely to be violent outside the ring in general.

because they fight constantly and use there aggression up.

I think the drugs and liqour and the missing the sport makes them become viotile outside the ring.

if you look at it most of them were drunk or messed up on drugs when they were acting up

but when sober they were not violent.

Humility sucks. It is completely phony. No one gets anywhere by being "humble". Humility is an ideal of mediocre people.
