But they both did campaign at LMW and fought for legitimate World Titles? Okay. I only mention it because you made the point that both Duran and Leonard had already campaigned above WW, so this somehow made it okay for them to fight Hagler at 160. That's fine. Hagler brought Welterweights up to Middleweight and fought them. Martinez could do the same, and there would be nothing wrong with it. Sure, he can fight the other champions at 160, but my point all along was that Martinez shouldn't be criticised for doing something many of the great Middleweights have done in the past.

I'd like to see Martinez vs Pirog.

It's because Floyd and Pac nuthuggers are afraid for their boys. There are 100 threads per day bashing Martinez now and I think that this is a good think for him creating a hype at least among hard-core fans

Martinez doesn't bring in big money either, neither does he sell tickets. There was probably more people at Pirog's fight a couple weeks back then there were at Martinez's yesterday. They sure were much much louder when Pirog fought Martirosyan. When Pavlik held the belt, except for Martinez moving up a few lbs to fight him, he was defending against Middleweights, not spending time calling out WWs.

Not surprised a clown manages to pop out of a shithole to praise Pavlik's laughable title resume. Pavlik fought Gary Lockett, unranked Espino and Rubio. The only title defense worth mentioning is his rematch with Taylor, apart from that his resume has been nothing but a joke. Even his fight with Martinez he was a huge favorite going in.

Let's not play games here, Duran had campaigned several times above WW. And again, Leonard is the one who said he wanted to fight Hagler. And for last time, Hagler had cleaned out his division before fighting these guys. As far as Martinez getting criticized, that's to be expected. Fighters routinely get criticized nowadays for fighting smaller guys. It makes it worse when this guy is calling out small WWs and then turning around and saying SMW is too big for him.

it doesn't mean **** but his title was not on the line for the rematch as it was a catch weight. Still he was considered the best MW by the time Sergio beat the **** out of him

The guy is basically a small middleweight fighter, he just came in at 158 lbs in his last fight. He can still make 154 if he wanted imo.

Going up against those bigger fighters would be a bad decision.

PBF fought Ortiz at 150, Manny will be 146+ for JMM...how is PBF so much "bigger" than Manny...they are both WW at most PBF may average being 2.5-3 pounds more than Manny.

Dawg hes already moved up from WW, to JMW, to MW...he's essentially capped out via his height and frame, IMO

Come on Reppin, if you cant see how Mayweather is bigger then Pac, I dont know what to tell you man. The dimensions differences in Mayweather vs Martinez compared to what there would be with Pac vs Martinez, is beyond obvious. Quoting weight is a small part of the picture in this discussion.

Are you forgetting there was no 24 hour weigh-in for most of Haglers career?

Lmao @ doesnt bring in big money fights either. Clottey dont bring in big money fights but yet he fought pacquiao. And to be a real big name, pirog has to fight in america more often to get more well known like Martinez has been doing. I dont know who bring in more fans in arenas but it wont matter if Pirog doesnt fight outside of u.s to get exposure. Look at sturm? he hasn't fought in us since his lost to oscar in which i thought he beat oscar anyway but it still shouldn't stop him from fighting in the US to get more exposure but after the lost to oscar, sturm has fought in germany in all of his fights in which he doesnt get exposure at all in which he's outside looking in. It's not helping his career.
