If Martinez wants the winner of Cotto Margo. I see him beating cotto via brutal KO.

However I can see exactly how Margo beat him, and how he could again. Walk him down behind a high guardjab, and pound him with shots from Awquard Angle.

Martinez would be favourite cos he's bigger, more powerful now than he was. However If margo turns up similar to the Pac fight, I think he has a great shot of beating Matrinez once again.

Margarito beat Martinez at 147. When Martinez was still very inexperienced.

On top of that, Margarito has shown throughout his career that above 147 he's not very good.

Him beating Cotto does nothing to show that. Martinez has become a way better fighter than Margarito ever will be. And on top of that. Margarito was likely loaded during that fight.

    Can’t say I agree.

Barker had a lot of success because he refused to predictably walk forward to Martinez. He was patient, and had the foot movement needed to only launch an attack when Martinez wasn’t set/ready to catch him coming in. And whenever Martinez would initiate the attack, Barker had the sense to take subtle steps back and be out of range. He was executing his plan beautifully before getting tired.

Margarito isn’t the type of fighter that can do this. His idea of defence isn’t to stay out of range. His is to block punches with his face. And his idea of attacking isn’t to quickly pounce on openings, his is to just walk forward and throw lots of punches. The problem for him here, is that against Martinez, he’ll be facing someone the same size as him, and one that can punch very hard when drawing people towards him (he, Martinez, loves doing this).

It would be a hell of a fight, because Tony's a bad mo'fo and wouldn't lay down for nobody. But Martinez brutalizes him.

 I love it. That's my favourite "no" gif, I think. It leaves you no choice but to stop what you're doing, close the browser, and walk out of the room.

    haha

Martinez is rightfullt the favourite because he's bigger and quicker now than when Tony beat him 1st time.

However i don't think its crazy to think this. I think Martinez would be favourite however 2 reasons why i think Margo has a better chance than everyone on here.

    1) Martinez proved last night he is very beatable

    2) i dont think margo is shot. although lets see how he looks against cotto.

    Cotto.

After that he was caught cheating against Mosley. And suddenly his power disappeared. He couldn't even hurt the smaller Pacquiao.

Martinez would beat the bell out of Margarito. Without plaster Margarito is trash!

Are you kidding?? Of all people Margarito would get absolutely killed against Martinez. He'd be hit all day night.

I wouldn't say his power has disappeared. We've only seen him in two proper fights since the Cotto one. I say proper, because the commotion pre Mosley didn't really allow him to be himself that night (no need for the plaster jokes here).

The comeback one in Mexico didn't really show much, because he was trying to box and move. And then against Pacquiao, he almost folded the littler bugger with that rib shot in the middle rounds.

So, whilst I'm not saying he didn't use the bricks for previous fights, I just think it's not entirely accurate to say his power has magically disappeared. We'll get a more accurate picture in the second Cotto fight, I think.

This fight would look like Margarito - Cotto, if Cotto had serious stopping power.
