I watched both sat , barker clearly had the harder task but lee showed skill and determination against a tough Vera. Barker looks uncomfatable aplying presure, and for a pure boxing match, i would pick Lee to be to fast for Barker,. Lee 's style could be a nightmare for an orthodox style boxer, though Lee could be short on stamina, and under severe pressure gets ragged, but i feel Macklin would be more in line to expose this fault than Barker. Lee pnts, though a out of the blue k.o. by Lee is more than possible i.m.o.:smooch

    its a 50-50.

The safe bet is Barker. Lee has shown us as much negative as posative while Barker is pretty much a 7/10 at everything.

I was actually impressed with some of barkers boxing on Saturday night.

Having said that, I still think lee would win a UD.

I think it's about as 50-50 a fight as you can get, I'd love to see it made - couldn't decide who I'd want to win.

I'd fancy Lee but Barker impressed me on Saturday night.

Almost everyone who posts on this says it will be a close fight and the precicitions are almost 50/50 on who will win. This is the fight the boxing fans and the general public want to see and it needs to take place soon for the European Title. Doesn't matter where it takes place - Limerick, London, Dublin, MSG, Atlantic City or Foxwoods.

50/50 - I'd like to see it. Good technical match up.

I think the general boxing fan with limited knowledge of both fighters would agree with you much the same as they agreed vera would beat Lee. Andys poor showings haven't helped him but we saw something like the old andy on saturday and he will improve more with that ****** off his back it affected his confidence greatly for a long time.

Lee had an easy time with barker in the ams and with barkers lack of power and his ability to struggle with big shots doubled with andys power in to hands i think Barker would be in for a tough night.

    Lee tko/ko

Lee by a late stopage for me. Barker done well during the world title fights but I havent been impressed with him in his 2 Europeans title fights the step up for Barker was too much from that standard for him. I think if it ever happend Lee will have too much for Barker. Barker's team done great to get him his shot but you need more than that to win a World title it was just too much for him.

I don't think Lee is eligible to fight for the EBU title now. To be eligible for the EBU title at least 5 of boxer's last 10 fights must have taken place in Europe and been sanctioned by EBU Affiliated Association.
    From the EBU website:
    http://www.boxebu.com/ratingstandards.htm
Only 3 of Lee's last 10 fights have been in Europe.

    :good Good digging there

Pity that but I'm sure they could bend their own rules and sanction this to gain some prestige for their belt. Would there have been a bigger European title fight in the last 5 years?

Don't think so. Even if it wasn't for the EBU title it would still be a huge fight.
