get knocked out once and put in one more poor performance and youre called shot, glass chinned and exposed by guys that were probably calling him the most avoided fighter in the business not so long ago. How fickle boxing fans are. Ive never really liked Williams but hes too much for Alvarez imo. Alvarez is getting blown out of all proportion due to his popularity. Think Williams wins a close, but clear points decision

Williams got a razor thin decision over Margarito and beat an old shot Winky...Not very impressed....He has been in the game over a decade, and what are his accomplishments??? And against who?? :deal

    Razor thin ??!!

He clearly beat him by 3 rounds :deal

He beat a prime Margarito in his own backyard (went to war with the guy) , do you not know every WW around that time wouldnt even entertain fighting Williams

Canelo is not in his league , this fight will not happen , GB would never make this fight

People are sleeping on Williams. He's undeafeated against orthodox fighters in case anyone has forgotten.

I got Williams by TKO late. I am not impressed with Canelo's jaw since the lesser Cotto managed to put him ***** street.

PW's matchmaking has been horrendous. He should have never fought another slick southpaw after the 1st round redemption vs Quintana.

And what does his brilliant matchmaking team do? They stupidly make him fight slick southpaws on three other occasions.

Horrible match-making accounts for all of PWs losses except the fitst one to Quintana.

I didnt get to see the Lara fight, but I heard williams is fairly well worn....

If its anything like the Williams that beat Martinez, Margarito and Winky, he would beat Canelo all night long, I have no doubt of that.

If hes as bad as people were saying he was in the Lara fight, idk.... closer fight obviously, I would still take Williams I think. Hes simply a superior fighter, imo.

Alvarez is better than Quintana in every category.

Williams DID get a gift vs. Lara. And he looked like he didn't know what to do all the time. But that was vs. Lara. How he might look vs. Canelo could be WAAY different.

WIlliams is definately down from where he was a couple years ago. But that doesn't mean Canelo, who has looked pretty lost in spots vs. Gomez and Hatton, could do what Lara or Martinez did to williams.

Canleo has never faced anyone with the pressure Williams would give. Nor has he even faced anyone as good as Lara.

But honestly, don't see Canelo facing anyone on Williams level just yet. Not for another year maybe.

The problems with Williams is a dumb trainer and management who keep putting him in there with styles that he doesn't match up well with. Put him in there with a aggressive come forward guy and you'll see Williams do a a lot better. Martinez and Lara are bad match ups for him.

Probably all true, but has the damage now been done to PDub, that he can't recover from?
