really the way i remember it cotto had just gotten beat down by pacquiao before steward took over, wlad had been ko'd and embarrassed for the 3rd time and lee had just lost his first fight by ko

then they joined up with steward and there records since are 2-0(2),14-0 (12) and 12-0(7)

but you're right hes just a celebrity trainer:good

Hmmmmm, I don't know, I think Lee was already under Steward when he lost... Anyways, ES may have been a great trainer before but I think his best days as a trainer have been gone for a while now.... Good riddance!

Horsewhat?? Anyways, no papo, I never thought Santiago was a good trainer but like they say, better alone than with bad company and with Santiago he was basically alone. Steward was not a good match for Cotto imo. Then again I know nothing of this guy. It's alright though, I don't think the coaching will be the difference at this level, at least not against Margarito.

How about I've been a boxing fan for over 30 years now and I've seen enough of Emmanuel Steward's character traits over the years to know when something is'nt right.

    http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/7059152/miguel-cotto-replaces-trainer-emanuel-steward

As I stated in a previous post and gave a prime example of Holyfield dismissing Steward for excessive financial demands.....I dont just throw random made up thoughts in the air like a fart in the wind.

Respect posters that have been following the sport for longer than you have and know the history of the people talked about in these threads.:deal
