Is Lamont Peterson really an EASY fight for Khan?

I know this could have gone in the Build-up thread, but thought I'd get more responses this way.

Anyway, do people really think this is as easy of a match-up for Khan? I honestly think he'll have his hardest test since Maidana.

I was checking out his fights against Bradley and Ortiz and this guy is seriously game. Amir's wins over Judah and McCloskey don't even come into this. Them two were NOT game. The GAME opponents Amir faced in his career were Kotelnik and Maidana, and even though he won a wide decision vs Kotelnik, he still gave him a tough fight all the way and Amir still describes it as one of his toughest fights.

Am I wrong? I honestly think Peterson's got good D, which Amir won't land on easily (He may hit the gloves often, but he's got to throws some hooks and fight angles with this guy) and Peterson's style isn't exactly tailor made for Khan. He's also got decent speed and good power.

Amir also said himself that this won't be an easy fight and he won't look dominant in it, but he'll win.

Also, checking out an article where Roach talked about it, he also thinks it's Amir's toughest fight to date. If you're interested in reading Roach's opinions, here's the article:

If you're going to post "no it's a **** fight, Khan handpicked this fight" then don't bother posting. I'm looking for some genuine honest replies.

Would appreciate some opinions from some decent posters. Thank you :good

he'll have a few tricky patches here and there but he should beat him rather easily.

You think it will be his hardest test since Maidana? You that as if that was 5 years ago he has fought twice since then once against a domestic/european standard fighter an an over the hill Zab Judah who hasn't beat any world class fighter since 2005. So in that respect it will be his hardest fight since Madiana but that wouldn't be hard to achieve to be fair.

Yeah it should be. Not particularly powerful and not many can stand off Khan and win.

It's an easyish fight in my opinion.

It's tricker than his last couple of fight's, but it's still not a real big challenge for him.

I don't think Khan's connect % will be all too high, Peterson can move around a bit but anything other than a wide Khan UD and i'd be really suprised

Personally I think Petersons at his best on the inside, with plenty of work to the body. I dont think he will get the oppurtunity to do that against Khan. I think Peterson would beat Judah and McCloskey, but dont see him giving Khan too much trouble. Khan to win a wide UD. 118-110, 117-111 something like that

they usually say things like its the toughest fight to date etc just to sell tickets and ppv etc........i think its a fight khan has no problems with....truth be known he should just move up to WW now cos thats where his future lies.

thats the way i see it anyroad......wide ud for khan.

Peterson will pose Khan minimal threat, other than Bradley Khan easily beats anyone at 140

Glad I'm not alone on this.

I expected "You're just bigging Khan's opponent up to take it seem like a big win" comments, to be honest. Thanks for the honest posts.

I was actually pretty surprised when people did say he's easy. I've got Amir winning, but as others said, the guy is pretty skillful and very solid.

Ortiz let his foot off the gas.

    Bradley won without much hassle.

Yes, Peterson is an easy fight for Khan. Even taking into account styles make fights he just isn't very good. He'd probably be an easy night for any ten stone fighter that's isn't pretty useless i.e Cayo.
