Shame to see a specimen of an athlete like the Hayemaker retire at the peak of his powers.

The real tragedy is that he was robbed of the chance to show us what he could really do. After such an illustrious career it's heartbreaking to think that history will always ask the question 'What if he hadn't of broken his toe?'

As person who has ripped on him for the past few years, i can admit now, that he was a special fighter, if it was 15 years ago, he would of won a belt in the heavyweights, fact is he boxed in the Klitschko era, so he realy had no chance against two ATG.

Well even if he never comes back,he can still say he was a unified champion at his natural weight and held a title at heavyweight.

There isnt a million people who can say that.

People can hate on him but even though they don't realise it, he did for them what he promised he'd do. They can say "I tuned in to see Haye get destroyed" but the fact is, Haye made people care about the division once again. Haye vs. Klitschko was like any great heavyweight fight from the previous couple of decades and the sad fact is, there are no more of these fights now. I remember arguing this point a while ago, before Vitali/Adamek, and people said "it's ok because we have another great fight in a few months which will be just as big" but it wasn't. Not many people cared about that fight on ESB and that was, by far, the second biggest heavyweight fight out there. Looking forward, there's nobody for Wlad or Vitali to face.

Look forward to tediously boring events like Wlad/Helenius and Vitali/Povetkin. Roll on the good...:zzz
