Martinez Has Been Offered Career High Payday To Fight Pirog!

Yeah HBO's so desperate to "manufacture" Martinez into a start that they took his summer date and handed it to the guy he knocked out :nut

 

I love that all the posters here with a clear agenda are happy to lap up the dubious information provided by an heretofore obscure Russian promoter.

The bulk of the evidence points to the offer not being advantageous for Martinez, and generally speaking the challenger has no business demanding the champ fight on his terms. There are market exceptions (Hatton/Tszyu, Pascal/Dawson, etc), but Martinez already is locked into a good deal and continues to build his name in partnership with HBO.

He has every right to hold out for a Mayweather fight, and if that doesn't materialize perhaps Pirog will get the bout. But it will be on Martinez's terms, not Pirog's.

 

Unless the money is too much to turn down i dont see martinez taking this fight. He's not going to russia to fight pirog where he'll have to kill him to be able to win. Pirog fans and martinez haters will scream that he's scared if he doesnt take it but i wouldnt blame him is he doesnt want to go to the other guys home turf to fight him.

I have a suspicion that Pirogs management will insist on the fight being in Russia for a Points robbery (lets face it, its not the first time sergios been screwed)

Hopefully the fight will be made in the US on HBO, that way nobody can ***** about the money

Robberies happen everywhere, not sure what Russian officiating is like but judging that Pirog is russian, His management is russian, the fight would be in russia and of course the whole IN SOVIET RUSSIA thing where everythings backwards is why I dont want this fight in the "Mother land".

The UK didnt use to stop fights early before the Eubank Watson / Benn Mcclellan fight but do nowadays either out of fear of a repeat or using that as an excuse, I cant remember the last points robbery in the UK in a big fight for quite some time.

German is the leader board for robberies but even though the US is made up of several different athletic commissions You still get terrible robberies there,
