If Khan beats Peterson will he have the best 140 recent record better than Hatton?

    :patsch Cheers for pulling me up on that one bro. I'd always been under the impression that he fought Agberu at 140. Sorry.

    I'll do it a different way if you don't mind. How I'd rank each win, if thats cool:

    Alexander

    Witter
    Peterson

    Vasquez

    Thats just how I see it.

    No.

    Kostya Tszyu win is worth a lot. He wasn't shot to ****, though he claimed he was unmotivated for the Hatton fight. Kostya looked superb in his previous fight destroying a guy he struggled with in his prime. Hatton had a bad style for Tszyu, and he did great to keep the fight at a short distance and to neutralise Tszyu's power. It ended up being Kostya's last fight due more to Hatton causing bruising on his brain than him being shot.

    Guess you'd compare that win with Maidana (Khan's best), Tszyu win was clearly greater.

    Hatton's Malignaggi win was better than Khan's win over Paulie.

    With the best of their other wins there is no clear edge one way or the other.

    Hatton had the longer reign, 4 years to 2 as champ.

    If Khan was to beat Bradley for his second very good win and reign another year or two that would probably be enough.

    if khan beats peterson; i don't see how you can have bradley with a better resume going by those rankings.

    k = 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 12.

    b = 2, 4, 7, 9, 11.

    both = 5.

    surely khan has the edge there?

    if khan beats peterson impressively i think he'll have completely eclipsed what bradley has done at 140.

    Yeah I could get onboard with that. I'll concede my point and rate Khan as the best since Hatton if he can beat Peterson aswell as Bradley did or better. Which I think he probably will do to be honest.

    No it wasn't. Khan fought Malignaggi at his own game - boxing - and got the more impressive stoppage. It's pretty difficult to stop an iron-chinned opponent by just outboxing him. Hatton's was a pretty scrappy affair (through no fault of his own) and got a soft stoppage over a Malignaggi who was having a difficult time with his trainer.

    Paulie blaiming McGirt was a lame excuse, same guy he signed after making similar excuses blaming his old trainers for the Cotto loss. That doesn't take away from Hatton's win. Malignaggi was rated higher back then. Many thought he'd outbox Hatton and make him look like the club fighter Paulie so confidently claimed he was before the fight. Hatton showed his true class and proved alot of people wrong with his performance, he out-fought and out-thought Malignaggi. He made him look like a ragdoll hanging on for dear-life most of the fight. Stoppage was soft yes, win for me was still more impressive. Paulie's boxing ability is not that great anyway, Khan basically out-speeded him.

    Bradleys record better than Khan's biggest joke evar. Khan ****ed Kotelnik for 12 rounds, Devon really lost to Kotelnik, and yet Bradley wasn't impressive against him.

    :lol: Tszyu for me is the best 140 lb fighter in the last 20 years. He was truly devastating in his prime just look what he did to a prime Judah and the fight with Jan Bergman is a testemant to how good a finisher he was.

    Khan apart from maidana (average at best) has fought fighters not on his level (mccloskey) and those way past their primes (judah, barrera) He has had far too many advantages over these kinds of fighters to suggest he is anywhere near the likes of Tyszu. It is shame Bradley don't want the fight but I don't think he is scared, just another situation where toprank will not deal with golden boy and Bradley knows full well he earns more money with a potential showdown with pacman than he does Khan.

    Hatton's win over Malignaggi was better than Khan's win over Malignaggi.

    When Hatton fought Malignaggi a lot of people rated Paulie the #2 in the division.

    Khan fought Malignaggi after being bashed by Hatton and dropping a decision to Juan Diaz (controversial or not, he still lost one of their two fights).

    Logical sense say's Hatton had the better win over Paulie

    The operative word is 'prime', Hatton's best two wins are a semi-retired Tszyu and a shot Castillo.

    agreed fella, I am under the impression that both of their records are packed full of the not so good and past prime hence it's hard to decide who has the best record. Hatton edges it for me due to his time spent at 140lb.
